Met up with wen jun, xing wei and chris today and we went to my mum stall for dinner. After that we went to starbucks in JP to chill out and as usual we somehow can talk a lot of stuff, from fengshui, to normal acd and uni, to eye candy/eye bleed, to girls with bad habits and with A-H (seriously, i dont even know why xing wei get so excited over this topic, haha), to our goal in life, to singapore fighting malaysia in war, to north korea attacking south and last but not least, discussing why wen jun (wearing the army uniform) sleep on the reserved seat in the mrt every morning. Will miss all these talk cock session.

My sis was telling me about ngee ann city fengshui few days back when we were at paragon having lunch. She said that the area where ngee ann city sits on now used to be a cemetery so in order to to have good business and pleased the "good brothers" the structure of ngee ann city is build to look like a tombstone. If you pass by paragon next time, look opposite where you can see ngee ann city. The fountain in front symbolize the wine and the 5 flagpole behind it is the joss stick. And if u look at the building, the word ngee ann city is like the name that appear on a tombstone, there are also 2 taller buildings at both side that resemble the side of a tombstone. Lastly the 2 stone lions in front of the entrance can be seen in tombstone too. To me this is more of a ghost story. Today I walked pass ngee ann city and the first thing that came to my mind ..this is one freaking big tombstone.

I always thought that the market rate for red packet is what I have been receiving until recently when I ask around then I realised that I am quite fortunate to receive this amount. Today I asked one of my poly friend how much he got and he told me that he dont know yet because has to hide all his red packet under his pillow and can only open it after the 15th of lunar new year. I have never heard of this practice before!! Seriously I think he got mixed up with the tooth fairy story.

Have been eating like a pig since I am back in Singapore. I have never eat so much food in a day before, is like I am in some food competition and this is my everyday routine. I am also starting to see the after effects...MY BELLY!!!

Visits at my grandparents house during cny is great. Is the first time for me, my sis and my mum to talk so much to this particular uncle of mine because he is usually not there during cny. When I know how much he earns a month, I was a bit traumatized because I never thought that anyone at this age can get such low monthly income.

When I heard that the eldest cousin in my family is getting married next jan, I start to sense lots of trouble because in terms of age, I AM NEXT! They will keep asking when am i getting girlfriend, when am i getting married etc.. OMG!!

After the cny visits I start to think that I might be the dumbest guy in my family cause my cousins are going uni in Australia, USA, England etc... And I think I am still the "record holder" for getting the lowest PSLE score, muhahaha!!

Yes, very sweet of them haha. We only slept for 2 hours before rushing to the airport from the dojang.

I dunno y we are so excited when we see the word TJC.

We sat cathay pacific to taiwan and my sis was telling me how good the service and food was. But to my disappointment, mine was the old flight and everything was just average. The food was not bad but maybe because I was too hungry. I am not really a bread fan but the bread in the meal is bloody nice.

Their version of fried oyster. I dont really like the sauce and it taste quite similar to sg's version.

The name of this dish is call smelly tofu but I think it should be call bloody smelly tofu. Seriously how on earth can a normal human being with a right mind eat this shit... Is like eating tofu beside a toilet bowl where someone just lao sai in it and went off without flashing.

Finally I am back in Singapore!! Really enjoying the weather because I dont have to wrap myself like a dumpling and bathing is not as torturing too, haha. I have been eating Singapore food like crazy for the past few days and i am starting to feel the pregnant stomach...

The day before I left for taiwan there was a opening ceremony in BIBA. Pros and many senior members in the korean GO community came.

Of course there is buffet!!!

I was suppose to bring my luggage to biba this day and leave together with SG friends after the whole event ends but on the way here I realize I totally forget about my passport!! Spend 5 hours travelling to and fro..one of the worst day in korea...

It has been quite some times since I last blog. Was really busy these few days because I have to wake up at 730am for GO training and I reach home at 11pm almost everyday. I even have to do my laundry in the middle of the night. My ns life is definitely better than this, hahaha.

There was snow few days ago which lasted only 1 night but it was enough to cover the whole yongin (the place I live) with snow. It was a bad experience during the snowing night because the bus was late for half an hour due to the unexpected snow and we have to stand in open area for the bus. What make things worst is that the wind was blowing the snow into my face and eyes.

I think most people in Singapore never seen black snow before. They look like black sesame ice cream and are everywhere on the road. Not a very pleasant sight though.

Got back all my results and my efforts were paid off for one of the module because I was studying like mad for that module. Was surprise to get a B for my bible study, I can only say that the teacher is really kind but still I want to burn that boring book which I wasted so much time reading and writing the summary.

Today is Cindy last day in school. Is sad to see her leave because there wont be any more weekend gathering, no one to gossip with during class time and i will miss the noise made by her and shuan when they are at home. Now i only hear evil laughter from my korean neighbour.

Lunch in school. The "beehoon" taste average but the small side dish dumpling is the highlight, haha.

Last meal in cindy's house and she cooked korean style pancake. I think she is secretly hoping that we get kidney failure because the black sauce in the middle taste super salty, haha. Anyway the pancake is nice.

This is real life spot the difference. One cost 9,000won and the other cost 12,000won. And I ordered the more expensive one..... The chef must be laughing out loud in the kitchen.

My first pair of winter shoe. Despite wearing for the second time today, my feet still feel very cold. Cant imagine what will happen in end dec.

My best friend!! HEATER!! My place is like a fridge at night and this heater is damm helpful.

Met up with alvin and gang near my place for dinner on monday. Is good to see familiar face especially in Korea. But they all look so sick.. I should be wearing mask the next time i meet them.

Tomorrow is the day! The day that it will snow for the first time in dec this year (i hope). According to my new best friend (yahoo weather, the first thing i see when i wake up everyday) and rumors among korean, it will be snowing tmr! Weather is so cold that i have to wear 4 layers everyday plus thick scarf covering my face like some terrorist. And is not even deep winter yet, muhahahahaha!

Took this pic last week. It became really foggy that day and it look like one of the scene in twilight.

It was the last lesson in Fuseki/Joseki class and the teacher treat us lunch by ordering pizza and chicken. That day was also the first day of Samsung cup final so we watched it live on the big screen. The atmosphere is good :)

Even though this semester is much relax than the previous one, I have more assignment to do for my finals. Statistic research, memorizing 36 games, review a book for bible study(nightmare!)

Today a korean told cindy "you speak too informal to me" Muhahahahaha, i thought is quite common sense for korean to know that we are quite noob in this formal/informal language part. Maybe Cindy speak too much Korean to him. Moral of the story: Speak english to korean you dont really know well. haha

Today is a very very very super tiring day.

Kim Sung Ryong 9p(金成龙), the korean pro who came singapore last year invited me, cindy and shuan to a lunch. I thought is just LUNCH nothing else because the meeting time was 12pm so I didnt get breakfast and wanted to eat as much as possible.

When we reach korea baduk association, he suddenly wanted to play teaching game with us and of course there is no way we can reject him. After the game we have to walk 20mins to the restaurant he suggested. Well, lunch is ok, no mood to describe now...

Then here comes our biggest nightmare. Just as we were about to part ways, he ask where we were going and we told him we were planning to go Myeongdong. And he asked the question of the day in korean. " you guys have time?" It must be the food we just ate that made us dumb to reply "YES". Then he said" ok, lets walk to myeongdong, is only an hour"

Seriously I think the 3 of us were in shocked when he said that. Before we can reply anything, he has already started walking towards our trekking trip of the day... During the whole trip we were behind him cursing and swearing and we almost lost sight of him a few times cause he walk so fast like no one's business.

He stopped randomly and told us that taking train to myeongdong is around 25 mins, walking is only 1hour, of course choose walking because we can save the SGD1 plus fare. When I heard him say that I really have an urge to push him into the river which was just beside us and shout "I DONT MIND PAYING SGD1 PLUS FARE!!. I really think he is playing prank on us..... In the end it took more than 1 hour to reach myeongdong.

When we reach myeongdong, we were half dead and thought that the nightmare was over..BUT he started showing us myeongdong as if it was our first time there. If he was a tour guide i think all his tourist would have landed in hospital after a day.

This is the most unforgettable day in my 9months here.

Morale of the story: After a free meal, never say yes when asked if you have any time.

After GO lesson on sat, the teacher invite us to his house for dinner. This is the biggest korean house I have been so far. Is like a 6-room HDB flat in Singapore and the balcony is really big, I suppose is for Kimchi fermentation purpose. Is not surprise to see that there are no bed only mattress , korean culture.

The teacher's wife cook dinner or us. Home cook food look indeed different from outside food. There are pork, korean pancake, kimchi (of course), potato, veg etc...

Autumn is gone and here comes winter, my worst nightmare. Is 1 degrees now and I just caught a flu due to the sudden change in temperature. I think the temperature is still ok but if there is wind, OMG... u should start to wear a hoodie or hide behind a tree.

Was going home and I saw this in school. Is suppose to be some election campaign for student president and they will shout stuff out randomly. Not sure what they are saying but I hope they are shouting stuff like "vote me and i will improve your canteen food". You will never get to see this scene in Singapore because before they even get to this particular spot, they will get arrested for illegal gathering, hahaha.

Dinner with Cindy and Shuan. This is where I have my first meal 9months ago when I first came korea. Cindy was telling me excitingly that this place have something like the bak kut teh we have in SG. When I saw the "bak kut teh" they serve me, i look at Cindy and the first thing that came to my mind is "YOU LIAR!!" haha.

This is like the bigger version of what I have 9 months ago. The reason I dont like to eat this is because the bone is bloody big and the meat is little and sometimes hard to find so you have to like fight with pig during the whole meal just to get the few meat.

Presenting korean's favorite food, ramen aka instant noodle. I have to say that the 2 kimchi bowl look like ash urns.... korea culture.

The season that every ahjuma in korea is waiting for is finally here!! The kimchi making season!! Suddenly E-mart have this section for kimchi making and they have all different kind of equipment including pail which is big enough to drown someone's baby.

Whenever I see these gloves I will think of my mum because before I came to korea we were watching a korean channel and they suddenly show this ahjuma making kimchi and she was wearing these pink gloves. And my mum was like " AIYO!! Y they use toilet gloves to make kimchi!!"

3 singapore kids are now in korea learning GO and sunday is the rest day so I brought them to myeongdong to shop. It has been quite a while since i last went myeongdong and the first thing I notice is that a lot of people are carrying this particular shop's paper bag.

UNIQLO!!! This is the biggest store in Korea which opens on 11/11/11, a global flagship store. I wanted to see what they have but the queue is unbelievable, worst than the queue for disney land rides...

Dinner with the kids. Yue heng change so much suddenly. When I saw him in Singapore he was still a chubby kid but now he look so different. The power of puberty.... The other 2 kids still look the same though, haha.

Chinese food for lunch. I think this pic can receive the "Most Appealing Lunch" award among my blog pictures. The taste is not bad, shall eat this once a week.

I still cant find a way to lighten up my mood after I lose a game. I will start to feel depress and sad like the end of the world and I really hate that feeling, is very 痛苦.Yes, I know is unhealthy. The downtown in my area. I used to complain that my area is ulu and nothing much but after going to gimpo and pohang, I think yongin is consider paradise, haha.There are a lot of cafes, cinema, facial shops, restaurants, McDonalds and many other shops including......

DOG MEAT SHOP!!!!! They should seriously close down these kind of shops.

This shop is also in my area. I thought they were selling ice cream but at a closer look, is a shop that sells pork. I think this is the most high class pork shop I have ever seen in wet market.

Went to a cafe with Cindy and Shuan today which is also near my school. I think the theme for this cafe is fruits cause there are lots of fruit desserts. But I personally think that the theme should be "old folks home"

This definitely looks like a wheelchair but is actually a rocking chair. Yes, like those chairs that old people like. If I bring my granny to this cafe I think I will get beaten by her because she will think that I am trying to curse her to get onto a wheelchair.

And if you are a person who get dizzy easily, you should never come to this cafe. The seats here are either rocking chair or swing...

But at least the desserts are good.

Went to Mr Pizza for dinner. This should be the best pizza I have ever eaten. They also have a salad buffet which I think is really good. Shall bring my SG friends to try if there is a chance in dec.

Few days back we went to a Brazil restaurant recommended by Cindy. Is quite a special restaurant because is buffet style steak so after you finish 1 piece they will "refill" the steak until you feel like vomiting.

The restaurant is kind of "jian" because they serve a lot of side dishes to let you eat while they take their time to cook the steak and if u are tempted to try all the side dishes, u will realize the boss is smiling behind the cashier. So Cindy was advising us not to eat too much and focus all energy on the steak buffet instead. Experience sia....

I am not a steak fan so it taste average to me. Xingwei, Alvin, if u guys love steak I can bring u guys here in dec.

Went to a food court for lunch today and when they serve me my food, it look so different from the picture!! The actual thing look as if the chef accidentally pour the whole bottle of chilli powder into the soup. Despite being here for 9months, i still find all these "red soup" spicy. Cant wait to go back sg to eat curry puff, chicken rice, satay, fried noodles and of course the food in my parents's stall.

Woke up early today for my bible study class which I have to attend on alternate weeks. It may sound good but when Cindy had her bible study class, her teacher told her that she dont have to attend, just have to submit some summary at the end of the semester. I am just too lucky to pick this particular timeslot :(

My teacher who apparently thinks that I am really into christianity (thanks to my english name Daniel) gives me handout to summarize every alternate weeks and I have to take a test regarding the handout. The latest one I got is about Baptism. The worst part is that I have to summarize a book she recommend (is not harry potter) and it is super duper boring!! I can still remember how enthusiastic she look when she told me about that book. Haiz, is like me talking about hikaru no go to my non GO friend. Must be retribution.....

Back to today.... even though i woke up early, i underestimated my ability to stone on my bed. When I look at the clock again I only had half an hour to lesson time, haha. So i have to practically run up the bukit timah hill slope (my adventure route to school) and somehow manage to reach the class just on time which I am still amazed how I did it. Then the teacher came to me, "oh Daniel, how are you, I thought we are meeting next week?" I was like what the *****!!

Today 2 person from my department ask me the same question "where are you from?" I totally stunned for a few seconds because we all met since I entered the school 9 months ago and they still dunno where I am from? I need to make more friends......

Was eating in the chinese restaurant near my place and it took me a while to realise that they have put the heater out. I remember seeing these stuff everywhere when I first reach korea 9 months ago.

I saw a Hongkong restaurant near my GO school and I was so excited thinking that they will sell HK food so i went in to get a seat without looking at the menu. But when I saw the type of food they sell I almost faint. Is a shop thats sells only korean style spicy noodles (one of the korean food that I really hate!!!). In the end I order fried dumpling and white rice....

Finally ate baskins robins Halloween ice cream cake. It looks really nice but it taste normal. Very disappointed :(

There was a GO event in one of the train station after the Korea Prime Minister Cup. Is a team knockout tournament between the Asia, Europe and World team.

Is a live broadcast so they have all these fancy equipment. The guy look so shocked when I took a pic of their equipment, haha.

Zhang Xiang is on TV!!! He was one of the representative for Asia team. I suddenly realise that I never manage to have a conversation with zx that lasted for more than 20secs before.

The weather is getting cold and I have to start wearing cotton socks when I sleep. Cindy has been telling me that winter will be hell but actually i am quite looking forward to see how crazy the weather will be.

Leaves turning yellow everywhere and when there is strong wind you can see them flying around.

Road to school. The sun is really bright but it doesnt help in the temperature at all. Ok, maybe it does but i dun feel the difference, haha.

Had lunch with a few korean friends and they ordered korean version of Economic Rice where you choose a few side dishes and rice. It doesnt look as happening as sg version but it taste good.

The theme for this blog entry: Moral of the story

Went to my favourite chinese restaurant few days ago to try a dish recommended by the chinese gang. I tried it once but it taste too burned but I decided to give it a second chance.

This is call Gan Zha Jiang Mian. When I first saw others eating this i thought it was quite silly. Because it cost more than the normal Zha Jiang Mian and the only difference is that the black sauce is separated and you have to pour in yourself. I am like HUH... does it cost more because the washing lady have to wash 1 extra bowl?? haha. Then people explain to me that they fry the black sauce in this dish and not for the normal one. Verdict after eating... Is Good!

Moral of the story: Everything deserves a second chance.

Lunch today in school canteen. If there is a title for this dish it will be:

Mr Beef Fried Rice and his pathetic side dish friends.

As usual it doesnt look very appealing. But the rice taste really good. I have to say is one of the best canteen food I have ever eaten.

Moral of the story: Never judge beef fried rice from its color.

Among the side dish this is one food I never understand why Korean and sooooo many of my Singapore friends love eating it. This is the famous RICECAKE!!! They say that the chewing "feel" is good but to me is like eating chewing gum and the worst part, IT IS TASTELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moral of the story: Friends may not have the same taste as you.

One of the chinese guy will be leaving our department cause he got an job offer in TOM, the chinese weiqi website. Even though he is halfway through this sem and he still got another sem next year to graduate however the GO department was really kind to let him graduate early using the job as internship as an excuse. So we have a farewell dinner for him and yes is BBQ PORK (the best and fastest way to get cancer).

Moral of the story: We need to choose healthier food for farewell.

Went to a cafe street 45mins away from my place last week with cindy and shuan. I have never seen Cindy so excited before, she must really love coffee and cafe a lot.

The cafe street. The atmosphere is really good and too bad sg doesnt have this kind of place. But even if there is, it will be filled with students studying. Come to think of it i have not seen the "study-in-restaurant" culture in Korea. I wonder how sg got this trend of studying in McDonalds or cafe.

Cindy bought us to this cafe for brunch because it was highly recommended in the net. Look at all the cars around the cafe, looks like the net review was right!

We ordered 2 set and share. Is around 30SGD for both dish. To my disappointment it look better than it taste. Is just average, nothing special.

Sheep theme cafe. I have not seen people eating mutton in Korea yet. Maybe sheep is too cute for them...but y they eat dog huh...

Not sure what is the theme for this cafe. Maybe is books because there is a huge and tall shelf filled with books.

This cafe may sound good in Korea but if is in SG, it will sound like a joke. hahaha

Went out with the chinese gang to myeongdong to do some visa stuff and shopping. During lunch we went to this chinese restaurant and had Zha Jiang Mian. If korean ask what is my favourite korean food, i will say is this. Not because it look like shit but it taste like shit. Just kidding.. Is really nice, even my sis and her friends love it. SG should sell this, it will be a big hit!

I have been in Korea for more than 8 months and this is the first time I ate this kind of vegetable! Have not seen such green veg for a long time..haha

Saw this women practicing FALUN GONG outside the chinese embassy and she changes pose every few minute. If this happen in Sg, I think before she even finish setting up the 2 board beside her, she would be surrounded by cameras and of course hardcore STOMP fans.

Went to a restaurant for brunch today and the waiter lay these items in front of me. I almost thought i was "toa beh gong"

This is korean-western style food. Cream sauce and rice. Taste better than i thought.

Last but not least, one of my blog reader say i put too much food and she hope to see Autumn leaves. But these 2 pics are not really good, hahaha shall take more in future.

Few days back we have a gathering in a "chalet" 15mins away from the school. I think Koreans have this kind of gathering every new sem so they can play and most importantly DRINK...

When we reach the place I was quite shocked cause the bus dropped us in the middle of some ulu forest. I thought we have to pitch tent or something, haha. I think Cindy regretted coming when she saw the surrounding..

Good news is no need to pitch a tent but the building look like some scene in those "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER" kind of horror movie. I think we are the only souls in the whole building and is quite impossible to walk to the main road unless you have a vehicle.

Professor Nam from our department. Sometimes I wonder if she is a Korean because she is so afraid of the cold. She will be coming SG next January and I hope to bring her around and maybe visit swa.

Party Time! Actually is just eating, drinking and talking cock with the professors. This room is only for the 3rd and 4th year student and I think Cindy will be the first to graduate among us.

Korean Culture. Professor pouring soju for every students. If this happen in SG, I wonder if it will appear on stomp with the headline "professor forcing student to drink" hahaha

Many cups for the different kind of drinks and they really have to clean this place up cause they will be sleeping here.

Just came back from a far far away city because I was there to watch the Samsung Cup!! At first i was still hesitating whether to go or not because it was far and I have to spend a night sleeping with blackie's dojang players but the whole event turn out better than I thought. Anyway blackie is the nickname for a 9p (金承俊)whom I am learning from.

I really meant it when I say chalet because is for their company staff to have cohesion, meetings etc.. I really like this view.

Even the tress also "buay tong liao", cold until color change. Autumn is here!!

I was really surprise to see 3 quarter of korean pros attending this event. They are not here to play GO but to play sports, games and everything else. I heard that this is a yearly event where they will take the chance to stay in the chalet to support the korean rep playing in the competition and to know each other better. Very good korean culture.

Because I have to stay there for a night, I was so worried about the accommodation especially after my school freshmen camp (a total nightmare and disaster for sleeping) . I am not a clean freak but when it comes to bed for sleeping, it better be good. And the room turns out to be chalet style which is good news!

The bed is not perfect but at least no need to sleep beside drunk dude who makes vomiting sound every min.

I was shocked to see this when I enter the room after watching some outdoor sports. The guy on the left is Cho Hanseung 9p (趙漢乘), the first pro player to stop NS halfway because of asian games gold medal. What really shock me is that for his age his belly is so obvious. Party too much after the gold medal, hahahaha

Because this particular day is a public holiday so no buffet :( Instead they got everyone bento and I think this is the most expensive bento set for this brand because they have this bento branch beside my school. Samsung is rich...haha

I was really impressed by this. This is actually the dustbin!! It is so neat and organize. If we have this bento "party" in swa, it will end up having mountain of boxes everywhere and people will start to pay uno stacko even if the dustbin is full. And sometimes u will hear "ohhhhh" and it means the mountain collapse....

GO players are indeed gambling addict! And these pros use GO stones as chips!! They lose hundred plus dollar every night....Scary..

It is quite crowded. I like the TV (on the right) showing the live telecast cause it really have Hikaru no Go feel.

During the discussion, everyone think that Lee Changho is leading and will win Gu Li for sure but in the end LCH lost by 0.5.

I think this is a very big blow for someone who is leading so much and made such a mistake during endgame. The reason why I say so is because after dinner we saw LCH and his wife (standing far away from him) in the dark field running like mad and started to kick the soccer ball around. (imaging is gu li's head i guess). Despite being one of the strongest player in the world, is still hard to accept when face with defeat.

Anyway I really wanna thank LCH for helping me even though he was in a terrible mood...

Even my teacher and another pro advise me not to approach him to do this because first he just lost his game and secondly he doesnt like to take pic. But... he agree!! muhahhahahaha

We went to Suwon yesterday for a GO competition. I didnt manage to join because there was no vacancy left so I brought my tumblers there to sell.

I was quite excited when I saw the competition venue cause it was outdoor and it spread across quite a wide area. I wonder if I can see this scene in Singapore before I die.

There are many different categories like uni, women, kids etc... and under these categories are more sub categories.

Tried this dish last week for lunch and I am starting to like it. When I first came Korea, this dish was just too spicy for me but now I think my tongue is a bit screw up so is not as spicy as before.

Just when I thought bridge class last semester was bad, I got something worst this semester... BIBLE STUDY... This is one of the compulsory module because my uni is a christian school and I cant believe I have to do summary for some part of the bible. These few days had been crazy days because I have to bring my sis and her fried around seoul and I have to say that their shopping stamina and energy are superb.

My sis and her friends came korea today to tour around for 2 weeks and I went airport to fetch them. I cant believe I spent 4hours just on bus rides, a bad thing about big country.

We took taxi from the bus terminal to the hotel and the driver starts talking stuff that I dont understand. I only know he sounds unhappy and impatient, maybe is because he thinks the hotel is too near or he is having pms. So to shut him up, I told him in korean that I dont understand korean.

Then he suddenly look at me and got this "r u kidding me" face then he said "u dun understand???" OMG, I always wonder will there be anyone who thinks that I am a real korean and I just pretend I cant understand. And this joker taxi driver is that guy.

Then he continued.."u can speak korean!! When u said I dont understand korean, u said it very well!" I am totally speechless.. I wanted to tell him that "I dun understand korean" is my best spoken korean but i have not study this chapter yet so I just nod and keep quiet.

The first thing my sis said when she saw me was that my hair is screwed up. muhahahah, of course! How can i look normal with a mushroom on my head. Her friend says that I look thinner compared to the last time she saw me but I have been eating quite a lot in korea. Maybe kimchi is the solution to become thin!!!

Went to myeongdong 2 days ago to help my poly friend get some SNSD stuff. Is so scary to see all the long sleeves and furry clothing in almost all the shops now because it only means that hot summer days will be replace by super cold weather.

Anyway after buying the stuff, I went to a singapore cafe to try their kaya bread.

This is the shop name. It has been a long time since I see the word Kopitiam.

They use a very traditional method for waiting orders. Most of the cafe uses the electronic type where it will vibrate when is your turn to collect your stuff.

Their menu. If the price here is converted to SG dollar, I think is quite expensive.

The toast taste average because I cant really taste the sweetness of the kaya. I am not sure if korean meals are killing my taste bud because most of them are either too spicy or of extreme taste so this meal taste quite bland for me...

As I was eating the toast, a Caucasian walk into the shop and scan through the menu and ask something that surprise me. "do you sell the egg?" I think the korean staff look super confuse so he gave up and order something else. Then he ask again "do u know where is Yakun? A competitor of yours" hahaha. Because I was near him so I told him where is it and found that he was doing research in NUS for the past 3 months. He even told me that Yakun is so good that he ate it everyday for breakfast!

After hearing what the Caucasian said, I went to Yakun the next day to try the korean version. I have admit that I was super excited when I saw the singapore trademark egg. The milk tea taste as good too. But the toast taste the same as the previous one, not sweet enough.

My lunch in school. It taste better than it looks. I think i am quite a picky eater so if i say it taste good means is quite good, hahaha. But I think Cindy will say this meal sucks.

We went to cindy's place to celebrate her bf birthday. They bought ice cream cake from Baskin-Robbins. This shop sells really nice ice-cream and is everywhere in Korea. A pity that Singapore doesnt have it.

Her bf normally doesnt look this retarded, we forced him to wear those stuff, muhahahaha.

I really miss Singapore food:( Is not that Korean food is not good but is too limited compared to singapore and the food here is very heaty... Imagine seeing red red and more red stuff in meals everyday.

School started yesterday and our department move to a new building. I think everyone loves the new place cause the previous building is super old and it looks like is going to collapse any time. And the best part is there is lift!! Come to think of it, people in our department must be quit fit cause we have to climb the stairs to level 4 a few times in the previous building.

New semester means that I may meet people whom took a break last semester. And it never fail to surprise me that "how old are you" is the top question when we start a conversation. But what surprise me more is that I saw a classmate who is 37 years old. I mean isnt 37 a working age already? What is this guy doing in my class? haha.

And we had a welcome party for everyone in a BBQ shop. As I mention before that if you are young, you have to do whatever the older person ask you to do. So most of the cooking and servings in the party are done by year 1 and I saw how they took their revenge...............

Stayed up till 5am last week to watch the presidential election. Is quit interesting to see how the candidates control their emotions and expressions after they know the results. Because of the recount of votes due to the close fight, I really pity those reporters standing outside the election department for more than 8hours.

There are a lot of different cafes in korea and I think this is one with the most kiddy name.

I was looking for the word mocha frappuccino on the menu and I couldnt find it. Because is all in korean I thought my korean reading skill deprove. Then.... I saw it... Mocha Tomppuccino. I wont say is creative....

Honey Butter Bread. When I ordered this I thought it will be one of the small slice so I was quite shock to see them serve me the whole piece. I think the waitress who serve me this must have thought that I am some hungry ghost.

Went to the tuition center today to talk to my boss regarding the new schedule and he threw me a really difficult task. He wants me to be the bad guy and I am suppose to tell someone something. Even though I have arrange my school timetable to accommodate everything, I am still thinking if I should continue. Is extra income means I can shop more, hahaha but it doesnt seems right.

My sis will be here 2 weeks later during the korea "cny" period and it means that this place will be like a ghost town. Hope she makes the right decision, hahaha.

Timetable in new semester is surprisingly relax. I only have 5 modules and bible study (gosh...) and no class on thursday and friday!

After reading this news I feel that law in Singapore is sometimes too cruel. Everyone makes mistakes and who doesnt deserves a second chance?

He was only 18 when he was caught and he had spend 5 years in prison going through trial and most probably ending up getting the death sentence.

I cant imagine what he had gone through for the past 5 years, the kind of life where there is no future and you know when you are going to die.

Went to Korea Baduk Association today to meet a group of female pros to help me advertise for go shop.

They have this special group which have 9 of them (the leader did not turn up) where they will meet up almost everyday to train. The atmosphere is really fun and is not as strict as I thought. Some of them can speak some english and is better than I thought.

Went to a far place for dinner tonight. The journey require a near 1hour trip and half way through a guy sat beside me. We were both alighting at the terminal and when I saw him walk to the exit I got a shocked. He was wearing the same shirt as me!!! same color, same design and he was beside me for half an hour!!!!! hahahhahaha.

Met up with Chaelim today and had a farewell lunch with her cause she will be going to US tmr as exchange student and will only be back next year June.

We went to a japanese restaurant for lunch and it was cheaper than I thought.

Chicken with egg. After the waitress serves the food, she mumble some stuff and walked off. I asked Chaelim what was she talking about and she said that if the food is too salty or too bland tell the waitress. I wonder what will she do if I say is too salty. Anyway the food is good.

We went to a hello kitty cafe near the area. There are only 4 of this shop in korea.

Went to breaktalk in myeongdong and wanted to buy mooncake from there but they haven start selling, muhahahaha.. So got this which taste quite nice when I ate it in Singapore.

Had dinner near my place. This is one of my favourite restaurant in my area because it is cheap and it taste nice.

Side dish. These are the 3 main dish they serve in most korean restaurant. the skin-like dish is my favourite, follow by kimchi.

I order this almost everytime I eat here. Fried beef with rice.

The rain became quite scary when I finish dinner. Is so scary that I dun mind taking my camera out in the rain to take pictures. I wonder if Cindy have seen this scene around our place....

Had a sudden crave for fast food today so I went to the nearest fast food restaurant (Mcdonalds) which is a half an hour walk from my place.

The mcdonald staff who serves me looks totally like a frustrated robot because she wasnt smiling at all and she got this perfect mono tone voice. I wanted to try this burger call 그랜드 프라임 but I just cant figure out is the english name for it. I only know is grand something... So when it was my turn I just point at the picture directly behind her and say I want that.

But my robot friend here didnt even bother turning her head and just remain in the same position and ask me which one, hahahaha. Later I found out that the name of the burger is call Grand Prime and it sux by the way.

Walked home and I saw 4 people sitting outside the convenience stall near my home, chatting and eating chips, deep down I was thinking "wah, relax relax sia...." Suddenly one of them shout out "hey daniel" I was like wah, I so famous ah...

A closer look and it was my tuition center boss. He was wearing super causal and he look so different because he wears serious stuff everytime I see him. What really shocked me is that his wife who was seating beside him literally jumps onto her feet and bow to me. I am so not used to people older than me doing that to me....

Was looking at the blog links on my blog and I feel kind of sad because most links there are "dead". Even though they dont update anymore I cant bear to delete them away because there are a lot of memories. I cant believe my blog is already 6 years old.

When I saw how the internet service guy fixed my internet today, I feel kind of dumb. He just right-click on an icon and click enable then the internet starts working. Is just that simple. He must be cursing me deep down cause he came all the way down on a sunday just to help me click 1 button, muhahahaha.

Shall post pic of what i bought in Hong kong and what my sis got for me.

At first we did not have any plans to go disneyland so my sis got me a few stuff from there. Pluto pen. I dunno when it became a tradition for us to buy pen for each other when we go overseas trip.

Towel in can. The can looks ugly maybe because of daniel radcliffe's face but the towel is quite good quality.

My sis must have thought that I am some gambling addict... I was really surprise that she got this for me. The box looks kind of creepy and it was the 7th month when she pass this to me.

Before I came korea I was really crazy about mac's keychain so she got me the hongkong version.

I know I am a bit crazy to buy so many pack for wet tissue but this tissue got this really nice watermelon smell. Even my sis think is very good smell but she din buy any....

I am not sure if this is mickey's hand or mickey's glove. Got this from the airport disney shop. I dont remember seeing this inside disneyland.

I am totally in love with stitch. Got this from disneyland. Should have buy more......

Got a watch from Disneyland. Most of the watch looks too gu niang and only 1 part of disneyland sell this design. Had to change the strap in hongkong because the original strap is fake leather and it looks ugly.

We walked past this calligraphy shop when we visited the peak and I really like the wordings so I got 1 for myself and a few for my family. I even ask the shop person whether the words are print on or real calligraphy, hahahaha.

This is of course not from Hongkong, haha. Got this air purifier from e-mart yesterday because it is too dusty in my room and I even start coughing. So far it is quite useful and the funny smell in my room is also gone.

My internet is down and I have to steal my neighbour's wireless. I am not sure whose wireless it belongs to because is never off. Thanks to the tuition center boss, the internet man will be coming to fix it.

Day 5

Day 5 is suppose to be a very exciting day because I wanted to give yls a surprise at his work place.

A very special rule in Hong Kong cafe. If there are 2 of u during peak hours, u cannot seat facing eat other to eat, u have to seat beside each other. So it means that u will be facing a stranger. I think this is a good strategy to prevent people to eat slowly and talk cock during busy hours.

The breakfast pineapple bun is famous in this shop.

Taste like normal tea to me.

Pineapple Bun. Look different from the picture but it taste good especially with the butter in the middle.

Roti Prata!!! Gosh, super nice!

This is where YLS work. Before going to Hongkong, I asked my sis to call this place and check when yls will be in office teaching and we told the staff not to tell him because we want to give him a surprise.

So while waiting for YLS to finish teaching, I went around to take pictures. This is the reception area and I heard that they have a lot of admin stuff. Swa should hire 1 to 2 more because we are really bad in this area and it will affect the whole operation of swa.

The teaching staff in this school. Almost all the staff are amateur and I am surprise to see that they are low dans. Swa uses a different strategy in this area but I am not sure if is right. Imagine a 6p teaching beginner, how would u feel if u r the 6p.

I really like this! Is just above the reception area and is for some lighting purpose.

I cant miss the chance to ask yls to advertise for my shop. When he saw me after his class I think he was really shocked. If he was older I think he would have an heart attack. We talk a lot about this sch and how swa can improve. Is really good to see him.

This chicken rice looks pretty but it taste like shit. Seriously this is the worst meal I have eaten in Hong Kong and it cost me 7sgd...

After lunch I went to airport and waited for a few hours for my flight. HK airport even have disney shop! Most of the things here can be found in disneyland but they dont sell the better ones.

My dinner on plane. When I heard the air stewardess telling the person in front of me that the dinner is either ma po tofu or bi bim bap (AGAIN) I feel like running to her and ask for the ma po tofu in case the same thing (only bi bim bap left) happen again. But i think most of the people on the flight were sleeping so I got my food choice.

My flight was delayed for an hour because of bad weather in Korea. I was thinking how bad can the weather be and it turn out to be quite bad...the fog was really thick in korea.

Conclusion for this trip:

I still remember very clearly that a lot of my foreigner friends told me that Singapore is such a clean and green city. I will usually smile and say thank you but deep down I wonder why do they say that because I dont think is that clean.

But after this Hong Kong trip, I really get what they mean. It took me 4 days to get use to the Hongkong environment. Maybe I am too pampered, I cant stand how dirty most of the building looks and there are just too many people. I thought Singapore was bad in the crowdy environment but HK is the winner.

After reaching Korea, I feel happy. Is like reaching Singapore when coming back from overseas. And when I was walking to school today, I realize that I live in a very peaceful and quiet town and I am really glad. I will treasure every moment in Korea now.

Lastly I am really happy to be able to travel with my sis because in future when both of us starts working, we wont have time to enjoy this kind of fun and crazy stuff together. I just hope that our relationship will be as good even when we have our own family.

Day 4

Due to the tiring Disneyland trip the day before, we wanted to just walk leisurely in shopping mall. My mum suddenly call us and say that we should use this chance to go Macau so we went there.

Breakfast at a place near my hotel.

My sis ordered lime curry chicken.

I ordered spaghetti but it turn out to be instant noodles in tomato sauce.

We have to take a 50mins ferry ride to Macau.

the interior is better than I thought.

Besides ferry another travelling option will be helicopter. The night view in Macau is really nice. There are like a lot of different version of marina bay sands there and my sis suggest this place call The Venetian.

Did not managed to take any pictures of night view because was on bus and when we reach the place it started to rain so we were indoor most of the time.

a very big Man U shop. A lot of my guy friends will scream if they see this place, is really a paradise for Man U fans. But for me, is like a shop that sells Chinese New Year stuff...

Dinner in this fast food restaurant. They have a lot in Korea but I have not tried them yet. They have 1 in Marina Bay sands i think. I think this is a korean brand.

This is really nice, a bit spicy though.

I ordered this and I even ask the waitress how to eat this, muhahhahahah..

My sis ordered korean chicken fried rice. Taste really good.

Egg tart with cancer lump. My sis insist that I try this. Is nice but it taste very similar to KFC's egg tart, ok maybe slightly better.

We have to walk through a casino to reach the entrance and the entrance is just an escalator with one security guard. The security guard stop me n my sis (which is a good thing) to check our age and the security guard said "87???" when she saw my passport, muhahahahaha. We walked around and decided to change a chip as souvenir.

Day 3

Day 3 was the most tired day because we have to wake up early in the morning to queue for the so call must eat dim sum and we went to disneyland which was not in our initial planning.

My sis told me that this a must eat restaurant in Hong Kong (featured in the Michelin food guide) and we need to reach early because there will be a long queue. This place open at 10am and we reach around 8.30am. Guess what, we are not the earliest, haha. The ang moh in this pic is the first and second is a singapore family (their accent is too recognizable) and we are third! Is my first time queuing so long just to EAT...

When my sis told me that she wanted to reach this place at 8am just to queue for 2 hours, I was like siao ah, the food so nice meh, need to queue so long... well, this queue was behind me around 9.30am, half an hour before the shop opens.

First dish, char siew bun. It looks normal but is bloody delicious!!!!

OMG!!! I feel so hungry now...

This is the start of our nightmare. A LOT of food suddenly appear on our table....Apparently there are some miscommunication when we order our food. Every time when we saw a waiter with food walk pass us we will pray hard that she doesnt stop at ours..

Is just too much... there was 3 of the huge dumpling wrapped in leaves... The waiter started to cheer on us and gave us support to finish the food, hahahah, They even tell us to take away and eat them for supper. In the end we have to give some to a singapore family beside us and we gave the huge dumpling to the waiter in the restaurant.

We did not plan to go disneyland on this day but because of the super duper heavy breakfast, we were quite down and tired so we hope that disneyland will cheer us up. The disneyland train is really nice and cute.

Finally we reach disneyland. The entrance feel a bit like Jurassic Park.

I guess i am not fated with amusement park because for the past few days the weather was like 35c. Look at the dark clouds in this picture.. My sis took most of the pic cause I was busy shopping in the shops. If u ever go disneyland, u should bring like 1000sgd for the merchandise, they are just too nice, much better than universal studio.

Conclusion of disneyland trip: VERY BAD. The environment and atmosphere are good but the people there made our trip horrible. The whole disneyland was very crowded and it was quite impossible to take any rides because the queue was just too long.

More than 3 quarter of the people there are from china, I have no problem with them but some of them just like to scream. Yes, not talk, not shout but scream. Is like 2 chinese standing beside each other but they have to scream into each other face. I DONT KNOW WHY.... This make me and my sis really irritated and tired. And some of them are really rude when buying stuff in the merchandise shop. When they talking to the staff, they talk as if they are going to buy the whole disneyland and the thing I cant stand is that they like to flick the money onto the table when paying, is like giving money to beggar.

Dinner time. Had pizza hut for dinner. Even though there are pizza hut in korea, I haven tried yet.

I am so hungry that I realized I din take the food picture when there were only 2 pieces left.

Taste good.

Ok, this is gross. This is super budget, I am sure it will never appear in Singapore Pizza hut Menu cause sure kena complain.

Thousand Island Pizza. Taste normal.

During day 2, me and my sis actually went to this place call temple street in Hong Kong where it is famous for fortune telling. I must be so excited that I didnt take any pictures of that place. We went to 2 fortune teller and we had the "full package" for the first one. Cost around 55sgd per person. After that person told me my fortune, I asked if he tells the same thing to everyone and he was a little piss, ahahhahah. In the end he only gave my sis discount. Ok, I shall see if he is right if not I will burn down his stall.

(Day 2)

Tram in Hong Kong. This is a very ancient transportation and is one of the cheapest way to travel.

I remember clearly that this brand is called "Guardian" in Singapore.

My sis bought me to this place for breakfast.

First dish, toast bread and scramble egg. Bread is too plain for me but the egg is special, 100 times better than mac's scramble egg.

This is like the hotcakes in mac.

Most building in Hong Kong look like this. Maybe I am too used to the clean and green environment in Singapore, I just cant stand the untidiness and "ungreen" environment in hong kong. The worst thing when walking on the street is the air-con water leakage...they drip like no one business and they will drip on you at least once a day.

This is the famous "DA SIAO REN" The aunty in blue is super good in cursing when she hits the paper with slipper, she is like rapping non stop. Cant imagine what will happen to people under her if she is a warrant in army.

(Day 1)

As I mentioned in my previous entry, I need to spend my night in the airport. I realize a lot of people was there camping too. Almost all the shops are close, only mac and convenience shops are open.

Saw this brand in the duty free shop, I know is 2 words but...is just lame, muhahahahha.

I sat korean airline and I remember they dont have personal tv during the last time I travel on it. Didnt watch any movie because I was too tired, has been a long time since I last stay awake for the whole night... getting old...

There were 2 different meals available, omelet rice and bi bim bap. So when the air stewardess came to me, I happily ask for omelet rice and she said, I am sorry no more (the guy before me got the last set!!!!) I dun really like bi bim bap because u need to spend alot of energy stirring and there are just too much vegetable, i feel like a goat...

They have the main sauce package in a glue-like container...

I look over to where they get the water from and the water level are all different... really doesnt look like drinking water....................

Street in Hong Kong. Honestly i was kind of disappointed when I walk around the street because everything look so old and is full of people (human beings are everywhere!!!). I dunno if i will recommend anyone to hong kong but food here is really superb.

The time now is 11.45pm, I am currently in Incheon Airport waiting for my 8.30 morning flight to Hong Kong. My place to the airport is a 2 hours trip and there is no public transport that early to the airport so I have no choice but to stay over there for 7 hours!!! This is the problem with big country.

Will be going there for 5 days to visit my sister and to tour around. I am so looking forward to Hong Kong food because from my sis blog it look super delicious. I just hope that she dont bring me to some korean restaurant in Hong Kong.

Went KBA yesterday to watch Sumsung Cup selection and saw Lee Chang Ho playing there. Is quite sad to see a player like him who achieve the most world championship not able to qualify as seeded player.

As he is not a seeded player, he will have to start from the selection and I get to walk pass him alot of times to observe his game and his most well known "poker-face".

I have to say that he looks more human up close because I remember when I started playing GO, his face appears only on books and magazines. And during GO lesson, YLS will describe him as if he is some legend (of course he is).

And regarding his poker face, I realize that he does have different expression during the game but is to the minimum, is like he got Botox injection to his face before every game.

I think if North Korea wants to destroy Korea Tourism Organization (food section), I will be the best agent. Seriously I dont know why I get to experience all kind of "ugly" food. Even I got a shocked when I was served this dish. If there is a english description on the menu for this dish, it will have to be "shit with fragrance white rice". And once I got out of the restaurant I had diarrhea....

It had been quite a while since I eat fruit but is a headache to buy them because my room is very stuffy and they will turn bad easily. Today I saw peach in E-mart and I think I have not eaten it in Singapore before so I bought 1 and try.

The shape of peach look really strange, dont you think it look like some ass crack fruit? Anyway verdict for this fruit: SUCKS...worst than apple. I miss apple.

It has been quite a while since last blog because i was a part time tour guide for the past few days, haha. My weiqi frends came to korea so I have to bring them around and thanks to them, now I know where to get cheap and nice shirt. Think my sis will go crazy when she sees the place.

When we went to the mall where bargaining price is allow, we have to walk in a single file cause the place was quite cram, is like you will die for sure if there is a fire. Anyway me, xing wei, wenjun and chris were there and as long as wen jun is not walking in front people will thought that we are korean and will talk to us in korean. But once wenjun leads the way, we start to heard all kind of different language from the stall owner, one of them even say sa wa de carp (thai language) to wen jun, muhahahhahah. It was really the joke of the day.

went to everland with my frends too. The interior design look quite similar to universal studio but is way way bigger than Singapore Universal Studio. But after coming here, I am not sure if I should go in if my sis come in Sep cause I dont take the rides all...

Was in school for an international baduk conference and today was the friendly match day. China send a very strong team, 6 pro players and even the famous amateur player Hu Yu Qing came.

My korean friend who was in either the 2nd or 3rd insei group won his first few match and he was feeling really good. His GO level is of course damm good and is like xie tang's level. But after a match with the strongest chinese pro among the 6 of them, he became really emo. I asked him what happened and he said his opponent and him are 2 totally different level, and he lost really badly. To make a person of his strength to say something like that, i cant imagine how strong his opponent is. Is just scary.

But wait a minute, if his opponent is already that strong, what about lee sedol?

This game must be really bad for the old man because he is going to pluck out all this hair. Never put this photo near swa because it will scare away parents.

Indeed, his opponent who is just a 15 years old girl who became pro last year has already 7 straight wins in this senior vs ladies competition. With 12 players on each side, she is the first player for the female team and has not lost a single match yet. With 7 straight wins, she broke the record for the most consecutive wins in this competition. As for the remaining 5 senior players, I wonder who can stop her.

Went to supermarket yesterday and I decided to get fruits because haven been eating them for some days already.

So I decided to get bananas because it is cheap and convenient to eat, no need to peel or wash. But there is one very bad thing about banana, it spoil very easily. Went to the banana section and I stared looking for the smallest bunch because I eat only one a day and i dont want my house to have the rotten banana smell. Finally I found one bunch with only 6 bananas and when I was wrapping it up, the supermarket aunty look at me with a look as if is saying "aiyo this boy so stupid ah, take so small one" then she came over and pluck some bananas from other bunch and put into my bag. I was like "shit!!! my house is going to have the rotten smell AGAIN"

In korean culture, is rude to reject people's kindness so with no choice, I have to smile with great gratitude in front of that aunty and my mind thinking very hard how to get rid of those extra bananas...

It has been a while since I post food pic. This is my lunch today, Soba. I have never ate soba in Singapore before because it look strange (like worms of course) and is COLD. After tasting it, is not that bad...

I was talking to a secondary school friend today and she told me"wah lao, I feel like vomiting after looking at all your food pic in your blog" Muhahahhahhahah. I think Singaporean have not realize that they are very lucky because there are so many variety of food available. And the reason why i ate soba for lunch is because I really dunno what to eat anymore, haha.

Met professor Kim in school today and I have to say that he is really kind and helpful because when he know about the GO SHOP, he told me he will help me to get contacts so that I can set up stalls in many other competitions. He even gave me some tumbler ideas, really appreciate his help.

And his assistant's chinese is superb!! haha, cause she was typing some invitation letter to China and she needs my help with some sentence and wah..., when i look at the content I think she can write a lot better than many singaporeans. She say she only learn for 1 year and stop for a year. Amazing....

My blog entry today is about my journey to a bloody factory in Seoul.

This factory is suppose to be very near the train station (according to the map i print out) but I just could not find it. People around there are mostly old people and when I try to ask them, they will frown immediately and say 몰라,몰라 (dont know x2), some said that before i ask anything, hahahaha!! Yes, is super frustrating...

Then, when I was about to give up, I saw HOPE.... a police station!!! haha. Yes, being a tired and desperate boy, I went in and ask for direction. The old policeman is the kindest person I have met today because a group of 6 policeman is about to do their rounds around the neighborhood and he ask them to bring me to the factory. Muhahaha, instantly I have 6 bodyguards with me. I have to say it is a very interesting experience.

But the story is not yet over, the policemen and I wonder around the place asking locals and they still cant find the exact location. So we have to call the company and finally after half an hour, we found the factory which is really super duper near the station.

The main problem is that this factory is located underground and they dont even have a signboard. The place look super suspicious so 3 policemen went down with me and when the workers in the factory saw us, they look kind of panic, muhahahhaha.

Discussion with the factory was ok, even though the scene was like a chicken and a duck communicating. Thanks to online translation, things arent too bad.

A tired and fun day indeed.

Saw this video on my sis blog. The chinese version of secret garden theme song. I actually like this song a lot (korean version) be it the male version or the female version. For the chinese version, hmm...i just feel that the lyrics is too simple? Is just not touching enough? haha.

Before coming to Korea I wonder why SG government have to fine people for spitting. Not that people dont spit in SG anymore, but people who does that are usually old ppl who have either too much flem or they are just trying to do something to keep them occupied. But in Korea, I realize you can see many ppl spitting in public, even high school kids.

I was shocked because she was one of the main actress in a drama i recently finish watching and i could not recognize her!! The drama was baker king but she look so different......

rain rain rain... is hard to go out so I spend most of my time at home watching Baduk tv and trying to finish the anime MONSTER.

I just saw on news that there is a Harry Potter marathon in GV. If I am in Singapore I will sure attend! Is quite challenging, seating there for 25hours watching all 8 movies, 3 meals included and a harry potter goodie bag! Can you imagine how excited hardcore fans like me will feel if we were given a broom as part of the goode bag!! haha. But I wonder if i can "dong" until the latest movie after watching for so many hours...

There is this new pair go competition in baduk tv sponsor by a fashion company i think. And their concept is really interesting because the company designer will dress every pair up with their products according to their looks and style and in between the match they will show clips of the pair of pro player posing in their new outlook.

Just saw some of my results and I got a B for bridge, muhahahahah. But I dun think I will ever pick up bridge again unless someone can really convince me its interesting. Anyway I saw the bridge news in sina and Singapore actually got first in the U26 group in a bridge competition held in Malaysia recently, congrats!

I was surprise with my Baduk English result because it was a different story from what cindy and most people told me.

Went to Korea Baduk Association today to attend a forum where the objective is to mend the relationship between KBA (Korea Baduk Association) and KABA (Korea Amateur Baduk Association). Apparently the relationship between KBA and KABA (sorry guys, i know it looks similar, now u know where the conflict comes from, haha) is not good and each of them wants to be the association that leads Korea Baduk internationally. And the conclusion of the forum is.... no conclusion. I suspect that this forum is just an excuse to meet up with old friends and have a great dinner, haha.

There you go, DINNER!!! A good thing about Korea culture is that YOUNG people like ME gets to eat free food, muhahaha. This thing taste a lot better than I thought.

Went to Myeongdong and found the shooting club where you get to fire real pistol with real ammunition. I have to say is quite expensive but there are many different types of pistol and you get to choose the gun you like.

I choose this gun because it looks cute, MUHAHAHAHAHA. I get to shoot a total of 15 rounds i think.

The most important picture of this post! Yes, actually I am from the national team, muhahahha!!! I know the "10 point" area look like I use pencil to poke those big holes. The instructor even asked me whether I was from military (well, i suspect this is one of the english lines he memorize to communicate with foreigners). The recoil of the gun is really strong and it was bloody loud even when I was wearing the ear protective cover. It makes me wonder how RAINBOW fire so many weapons at the same time and be able to have such good hearing....

I realize that most Korean guys are taller than Singapore guys. My height in Singapore is consider average but I feel super short in Korea, haha. Must be the kimchi... I shall eat more of it now.

Was looking at the lanke and quiping name list and saw that the number of players are declining yearly. I think swa should not just focus on children but on teenagers too. But i feel that the priority now is to fix the "blackhole" in swa. We can promote this game to many people and get people in, but how to make them stay is more important. Throughout the years in swa, I have seen many people fall into this "blackhole" maybe because there isnt enough activity or there are just too little new people coming in to spice up the place. Swa feels very different now compared to few years back when I started GO when it was livelier and with more people. Now is just a place for lesson.

Was having email exchange with a sch in Singapore and her reply really make me feel that she is not trying to help and she is thinking of various ways to push the idea away. I mean if is a NO, just explain why it cant be done instead of avoiding my questions and give different excuses after every email. I am starting to feel the dark side of the working world :(

I am now watching this anime call MONSTER. Is not about real monster but about this boy who has a gift of controlling people's mind and their fear. Is one psychology anime that I enjoy watching a lot.

Went to Myeongdong today to look for some stuff for my project but found nothing. Not able to search on local korea search engine makes it hard for me to look for the stuff I need. In the end I went to walk around Myeongdong and it started raining in the afternoon :(

Went to a japanese curry restaurant for my dinner. The price for majority of the dishes are below 10,000won. I dont think I can find such cheap japanese restaurant in Singapore.

I have to admit that I was kind of stunned when I saw my order because I ordered shrimp curry and I visualize it to be those japanese ebi (deep friend prawn). It turned out to be many cute little shrimp. Anyway it taste better than it looks.

Just when I was about to go home, I saw my first demonstration in Korea. Alright, lets be more positive, this is the Korean version of Chingay.

I think this is their leader (the one on the right). I can tell that he is one angry man and I think the rain make it worst because he has to wear the stupid raincoat.

I think they are now shouting.. "HUAT AH". I cant imagine what will happen if this is in Singapore? Do you think LKY will get an heart attack?

This coming week will be the start of summer vacation. Wah, I never thought I could use the word "summer vacation" in my life because it sounds dumb to use it in Singapore. Will be exploring korea more I hope.

My friendly neighbour Cindy has left Korea to China for 2 and a half months. She took cruise to China this morning and I think she is quite nervous about this 24h cruise trip. Hope she is still alive.

Went with Chaelim to Hongdae today before she goes US for exchange program. This is one of the best place I have been in Korea is a must visit place for foreigners. Pictures time!!!

The first place we went is this Korean style flea market which only happens on every saturday, march to november (dec to feb seems too cold for them). Is a really nice place and everything here is handmade product.

Using bottle caps and keyboard letters as keychain. The owner emphasis that I can only take picture from far. Haha, but earlier on I saw a lady pretending to look the keychains while snapping the products vigorously with her iphone.

I like this stall because the leather products are nice, Chaelim got me a leather coin pouch from here as a gift.

Not sure what is this but it looks Korean style voodoo dolls.

Ice cream stick stall. There are many other stalls but some of them dont allow photography because they are worried that I appear beside them selling stuff next week.

Very common in Korea, is everywhere! But I have not tried yet because I am worry about the hygiene (but many people told me is safe to eat) and communication with old people in Korean might be a problem, they are not really good in body language.

Not sure if you have seen these kind of diagram. It appears that one of the object in both pictures is longer but actually they are of the same length. Thanks to baduk psychology again, I think I have seen half of the gallery in the my mid-term psychology book.

Notice the difference? Perception is always relative, never absolute and it always depend on the surrounding context.

Went to the Coffee Prince cafe. I only watched this drama halfway and I gave up because is too much for me. Imagine the story is about a blind man and a girl who wants to be guy, cant understand why some of my friends (yes i am talking about you, minyi) and my sis like this show that much, haha.

Wanted to have a drink inside but is fully occupied by Thai tourist.

was reading swa emails and I really feel like laughing. This kind of small stuff can discuss as if is a national problem. Sometimes I have no comment for you-know-who. Swa is facing bigger problems yet he is still stuck in the years when he was president comparing stuff that happened donkey years ago. I just feel sad for swa. Hope the new exco will be good:)

Tmr is my last day of exam and it means holiday!!! I am a naughty boy for this final semester exam because I didnt study at all, was really busy doing up some stuff which is super time consuming and I think that is more important than exams. This is not an excuse not to study hard for my exams but I think the Koreans need the GPA more than I do because it is really important for them.

Someone in Baduk english said this to me one day "why are u in this class? Because of you I may not be able to get an A for this module." I know he was joking but I could sense the bu shuang, haha.

The mini project I am working on is good so far. However there were more problems than I expected, yes a lot more problems... But I think is good training for me on how to deal with unexpected problems. Wah, so positive of me :)

I was wearing slipper to school toady so that I dont have to wash many pair of socks and I realize alot of people in school look at me as if they just seen an Africian. I am serious... Maybe is just not the culture to wear slipper in korea. But I dont understand how they can accept the bathroom style slipper WITH SOCKS?

So when I was in class with Cindy, I asked her "the person in front of us dont feel hot?" she then turn her head slowly and give me the very calm (as usual) look and replied "he is a fashion leader"

Had lunch in another canteen and the food is so much better!

One thing I dont like about my school is that there are no toilet paper in the cubicle. There is only one big toilet paper dispenser near the entrance of the toilet so whenever you see people start pulling the toilet paper, it means "hey look here, I am going to shit soon!"

This is the first week of final semester exam and it will be summer vacation 2 weeks later! Wah, time pass so fast!!!

Today is a bad bad day.... Went to Gimpo (sounds like alvin's favourite teacher in thailand)to check something so took an hour bus ride, an hour train, another one hour bus ride again and finally a 5 minutes cab to reach the damm freaky far place. Then when I enter the building no one was there. I called my korean friend and she told me today is a public holiday. First time in my life I wanna shout the F word out.

Anyway I did something that "save" my life today. When I alight from the cab before going into the building, I dunno why but I just took the call-a-cab card. This building is in some super deep ulu place with no one around (you can only see FARMERS in the field some distance away), if is not for that call cab card, I think I will die there. Calling a cab in Korea is easier than I thought, better than SG, haha.

Went to Ajisen for dinner few days ago. The taste is the same as SG and I think is slightly cheaper here.

I finally took a pic of this. I just feel very uncomfortable whenever I see this in Myeongdong. In the tent there will be a old man or old lady reading out stuff from the bible. I just feel sad for them.

Last bridge lesson and we have a mini competition in class. Please look at the amount of notes in front of Cindy, muhahahahahah!!!!

Is really really hard to believe but Cindy and her partner came in first in the competition, must be the massive amount of notes in front of her that distracted her opponents, hahaha. When I finally found the one and only crumpler shop in Korea, I was stunned.

It is totally different from the cumpler shop I have seen in Singapore.

The shop was located under digital and electronics section (dun ask me y) and if you have seen what I saw you wont even consider that a crumpler shop. Because it was located IN a small stall that sells camera. No one on earth would be able to find that crumpler shop without the help of the information center. No wonder I spend freaking long looking for it....

Had dinner with sebas club member yesterday in the restaurant call Mother's Finger . I find the name of this restaurant real creepy. Can you imagine a group of old lady stirring food with their fingers?

Rice will be put into the pot to fried with the remaining sauce. Looks like mash potato in this pic.

When to this I am not sure what is it call ... hmm... baseball court?? You put 500won and ball will start shooting out and you have to hit it with the bat. Good exercise to vent your angers.

My lunch today. Chinese style friend rice. Even though is chinese style, you wont be able to find this anywhere in China so is more of Korean style friend rice. The black sauce is really good, is one thing I will miss if i return to Singapore.

Went to Korea Baduk Association with Cindy and the chinese gang for the annual university team tournament. There are 3 group, the Strong group which consist of ex-insei and tygem 9d players, the Normal group for players who are as noob as me and the Freshmen group.

This competition is fast game. 10min with 3 times 20seconds byo-yomi. But not every table has a clock so I was wondering how are they going to make it on time cause it starts at 2pm and need to end around 6. So when the time for the next match is reaching and if people are still playing, professional player will stop the game and decide who wins or lose. I think is quite a good idea and swa can consider this if we want to end competition on time.

Plastic surgery advertisement on the train. I was really surprise to see people selling stuff in train. Like they pull a trolley of raincoat into the center of 1 cabin and starts to advertise the coat. When no one respond or buy, he will sadly move to the next cabin. If this happens in SMRT, I think those terrorist police will drag the person out once the train stop. Oh, he will appear in STOMP first.

Went hospital yesterday to visit student club president because he was in an accident. That hospital he is staying in is totally different from those I have seen in Korean drama. I think is a small hospital, even smaller than polyclinic. What really surprise me is that the toilet is smaller than the one in my house (which is quite small already).

We had dinner after that in a place call uncle tomato.

Meet Mikyung one last time today before she flies back to Singapore. We had duck for lunch and this is one of the healthier food I had in Korea. Is like shabu-shabu (sorry dont know how to spell, look weird here) and I really like it.

Bought MIDAS ost and the songs are great! Love all the songs except for 2. I think the actress (the lady at the bottom) in this drama is really pretty! The drama is good too.

Lunch in canteen yesterday was great! One of the best meal I have eaten in school especially the mash potato. The hot dog stick thing is not really nice but I think a lot of korean love it. I even saw one korean trying to take one extra but was scolded by the canteen aunty.

For someone like my age I think is time to eat healthier so I decided to cut own on snacks and eat healthier food.

I realize i am running out of space for my posters.

Today is the second time I have a hair cut in korea and I have reach a conclusion that in order for any hairdresser in korea to pass their graduation test, they have to cut a perfect mushroom hairstyle. OMG... seriously there is a mushroom on my head right now. I am super disappointed after the hair cut yet the hairdresser look so excited and happy as if she just won a hair cut competition ..yes i feel like slapping her, haha. I should hide in my room for the next whole week.

Every time in baduk english class, after the teacher marked attendance at least 5 student will go out of the class and never come back.

Today the same thing happen. But the teacher became smart. Just before we are about to end the class, the teacher decide to take another round of attendance. I could see how shocked some of the koreans look and some evil one was smiling and show the thumbs up sign (which i have no idea what is there to be happy about).

Next week there will be a inter uni team competition and it will be my first competition in Korea. Will be held in Korea Baduk Association. I think by the time I reach there I wont have the energy to think because is like a 2hours trip.

Today when I heard from Mikyung's mum that only 30% of Korean have their own flat, it really kept me thinking.

Because being born in a country where most family have their own house I really cant imagine how is it like for a family to move to a new home once every few years when the rent contract is finish.

That conversation somehow motivates me to work hard and to earn enough money for a good life in future.

Anyway we went to Mikyung's house for lunch. Her mum cooked for us and is the first time I ate korean home cooked food. Of course is way way better than the "junk" food (except cindy's cooking) that I have been eating. Her brother looks like lee chang ho and Cindy was so fascinated by him, hahaha.

Today's class was special because the teacher decided to have the lesson outdoor. I am not very sure what is the name of this class, I think is Baduk and Games or something.

So each group is given some papers and we need to construct the game that most korea children play.

-___-" <--- this was my expression when I saw how the game was supposed to be played. You are suppose to fold paper into a square shape and slam another square shape paper on the floor and make sure it flip over. Why would children enjoy this game? Ok, actually children enjoy everything...

The slipper in this pic is the nicest I have seen, the most common one is those kind where we wear in toilet and they actually wear in on the street!!!! Dinner... I cant believe I ate the same kind of junk food for 2 days (even same shop!!). One thing I dont understand is that korean eat pizza with pickles..

Besides pizza, we had chicken too. This is one of my favorite flavor in korea. I shall not be eating these stuff for a while...

Went SPAO to help xing wei get stuff and the payment part is really frustrating. I asked "do you accept visa" and the lady keep pointing to a sign and explain about the discount. OMG... and the worst part is she got angry because I dont understand.... bad customer service...

Anyway while I was waiting for my bus to go back home from Myeondong, an old granny (my grandma age) approach me and ask me for direction. So i told her in korean that I dont understand korean (my most fluent korean cause i use it all the time) then she ask where am I from (i also understand this because most people ask me this question). After telling her i am from Singapore she smile and walk away, then I said sorry in korean to her. The shocking thing is she stop, look back and say NO PROBLEM (in english), muhahahaha... i almost faint...

Before coming to Korea I have heard that plastic surgery is quite common here. I have seen advertisement in trains showing the before and after picture of PS. I have not seen personally how PS can transform a person though.

I mentioned before that there was a few pro in my orientation camp group I attended last month so I decided to check out their profile in korea baduk association website and i got really traumatized by one of the picture.

This is the pic in the korea baduk association website. When my friend told me this is that guy in my group, I ask him to check a few more times if he made a mistake or not. Because this person look totally different now... Cindy told me that he is now consider the best looking pro in korea. (she is not referring to this pic)

He is one of the guy in this pic. And the most shocking thing is that he didnt go for PS. Wah, can you imagine the kind of determination to change that much?

And I mention about the main actor in Secret Garden....

Seriously there is just something different about this 2 face but I just cant tell what is it. Is it the lighting or makeup?

Think 2 years later no one can recognize me when I go back Singapore. Muhahahahaha!!

Few days ago when I walk into the baduk department building I thought there was some poster pasting competition cause there was this poster in every corner of the building.... ok maybe not because I didnt see it in the toilet.

I thought it was strange because the notice board is not full yet and the way they paste the poster, even the blind can sense it...

Finished watching Secret Garden and is now one of my favorite korean drama. I seldom watch romance drama but the plot for this show is quite interesting even though is unrealistic. I came across the interview video of the stars in the show and omg!! they look so different especially the main actor..he look quite scary without makeup.

It has been 3 months in Korea and life is good so far. Weather is getting hotter day by day but the temperature at night is really good. Cindy say 5 more weeks and it will be holiday. Wah, time pass really fast.

So far I have not regret coming to Korea because I get to know more people and learn new stuff but most importantly I get to experience a different lifestyle and I get to see many things beyond Singapore, something that I will never know if I stay in Sinagpore. Hope that I still feel the same when the new sem starts, haha.

Have started watching Secret Garden and is better than I thought, now I know why my sis keep watching it. The soundtrack is really good too and I even bought it!! hahahha.

Stay up late last night to watch the live telecast of the election. Results for the opposition is better than the previous election and I hope this change can push PAP to look at the low/average incoming family more (me of course!!!!). George Yeo is no longer a minister and to think I met him in the airport the day I came Korea, my mum still talked to him.

I attended the school carnival concert last week and I didnt manage to take any pictures because I forgot to bring camera. The concert was quite cool and is outdoor kind. But there was this performance that I cant forget. This girl sang poker face by lady gaga. I seriously think she read the wrong lyrics because she keep saying focus face and there is this part where the actual song is p-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face but this girl keep singing or maybe I heard her sing f-f-f-fu*ker face. Cindy heard the same thing too. I think the korean around us thought we were mad cause everyone was enjoying the song and the 2 of us were laughing like mad.

Weather in Korea is getting really good because is almost as hot as Singapore now! WOOO!!! Time to get a fan because my room will soon become an oven.

I went myeongdong today to walk around and is super crowded. I wanted to take some pictures of how scary the Christians are in korea but no chance, shall try the next time I go. Because they will carry banner with writing " believe jesus heaven, no jesus hell" Most of them are elderly and they will stand for long hours reading stuff from bible or sing christian songs. I mean what if everything in the bible is fake? Wont they be wasting their lives away? I just feel very sad every time I see them.

Giordano in Korea is so so hip compared to Singapore. Their designs are a lot better and I think the price is a few times more expensive than SG but still there are many korean buying Giordano stuff.

I saw some of the females in our department appear in Baduk TV playing some league competition and when I know their strength I got super shocked. I mean I know there are kyu, low dan and high dan female players in our department but those few whom I thought spend more time on make up than baduk and there is one whom I think is quite pretty are actually high-dan players. Seriously, never judge a book by its cover ESPECIALLY IN BADUK DEPARTMENT. I finally know the meaning of traumatize.......

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY!! When i went emart this afternoon for lunch, I could see happy kids everywhere and most of them have a toy in their hand. But when I look at their parent's face, you can see their sian face... Of course, big hole in their pocket.

Just finish watching the movie Downfall. Is a movie about the final 10 days of Adolf Hitler before he committed suicide with his wife. Is sad to see that so many people die because of him. War is really horrible and yet being the smartest animal on this planet, why cant human figure this out? World domination yea?

There was a sch carnival yesterday and our department got a stall to sell drinks and food.

Preparing food before the start of the carnival. I was a bit scared when I saw how they prepare the food. When you want to taste the soup you will take a new spoon and try right? But they drink from the ladle and put it back into the soup. And when you chop carrots into small pieces, you use your hand to remove those that stick onto your knife right? But they bring the knife to their mouth and lick the carrot off (to eat it). Well I am still alive and I have not call the ambulance, glad that my stomach enjoys korean culture.

Freshmen "forced" to help out in serving dish and taking orders. Is sad cause most of them will have no time to eat dinner and they need to help to pack up everything till 4am.

While waiting for the carnival to start, I went to the dormitory canteen to have dinner with some korean friends. Is my first time there and the place is better than I thought.

Maybe because I was quite hungry at that time so this meal taste quite good to me.

Dormitory's convenience store. I think the dorm environment is quite good except for the curfew. The dormitory will be lock after 12am.

Do they have this flavor in Singapore?

Too many tress so cant take a nice pictures of the stalls. Is hard to find this kind of festival in Singapore because you have to apply so many permit and by the time is approve I think you wont have the mood to carry on.

Sometimes I wish singaporeans can be like koreans when it come to eating and drinking. Is very simple and there is lots of fun.

I should have wear more because is very cold at night thanks to the wind.

Good business for our department. They even brought down a GO set, of course no one was in the mood to play. I am surprise that the image of GO is really good in korea. As in if you say u play GO in Singapore, people will think you are nerd but in korea the first thing that come to their mind is "wah u r so smart"

And guess what? Tmr is public holiday and it means no school!!!! And what public holiday is it??

Today I went to korea baduk association with zhang qian to watch LG cup selection. At first I thought this trip was just photo taking and enjoy looking at their games but when I reach the competition venue I was taken by surprise by the atmosphere and the intensity of the games.

Firstly I have never seen so many pro players at one place competing against each other. The atmosphere is totally different from amateur competitions and you should see how serious all of them were. The time for this selection is 3hours, 5 times 60 seconds each. Can you imagine yourself seating there for more than 6 hours (u have 1 hour break), some even close to 7 hours just to finish one game. The pro players can really think a lot. I was there from 2pm to 5pm and just by looking at the various games I felt like vomiting when I left the place. Is really not easy to be a pro player. And this is just the second round of LG selection.

I think this is the youngest player in this selection and he attract quite a number of attention.

When I saw this player from far, I thought he is like the coolest pro player I have ever seen. Then i went nearer to see his name and I got a shock... He is the son of TAKEMIYA MASAKI (武宮正樹).

The guy on the right is from myongji. I think this is one of the games that made me shake my head. The game covers only half of the board but the amount of calculation is scary...just one wrong move and you will need to resign.

Match fees. Wah!! You get more than SGD300 even if you lose the first round!!!

I thought the player on the right is going to scold the F word very soon. Why? Look at the next pic....

The time difference is just crazy... I think this is a good way to torture impatient opponent.

Seriously who on earth would have thought that this uncle here is a pro player. I mean he look exactly like the uncle at my void deck selling newspaper.

After today's trip I come to this conclusion.

For the first time, all foreigners in the baduk department gather in Sebas room. We were there not to learn english but to play cards!! haha.

Side dishes. I come to realize that i am quite addicted to kimchi. Maybe because they are available in every meal so my itchy mouth would want to try them, haha. Some kimchi taste really good but there are some with weird taste (kimchi in canteen) but still edible.

Speaking of eating, I am not sure if i have mention this in my previous post, I got a culture shock when I see people eating in bus and in their MRT!!! So much freedom here!! haha. I think it will be super funny if you see people eating steamboat in front of you in the train.

Yesterday was tony's birthday and we went to a pub to celebrate. The beer in Korea seems really cheap, a pity that I dont drink them.

The student club president was there and he suddenly ask how old am I, I told him 25(korean age) and he smile and say "friend friend" and start shaking my hand (well, he is 25 too). Then he ask the chinese guys their age and they say 24, the president reply was"hmmm"... and he look some where else. hahahhahah. The power of age. I think the koreans can never imagine how we make fun of jc or james age in singapore.

Yes, is the game call bloody bridge. After 2 years in green uniform (army), I was afraid that my brain become too stupid to study but on the other hand 2 years of constant email engagement with YOU KNOW WHO balance off everything.

A lot of people!! There was some ceremony on how the ancient korean guards change their shift in palace (i guess...). Actually I was more amaze by the view behind the gate, the mountain is really beautiful. Lets play a game, where is cindy and bf?

Had this for dinner with my korean friends after a talk by a pro player few weeks back. Is spicy tuna with rice. This is one of my favourite dish in Korea but is just too spicy. After the meal I will look as if i just finish bathing...

I need more alarm clock. Today for the first time I miss chapel. When i woke up, it was 10.20, the meeting time with Cindy for breakfast every wed, and she was outside my door pressing doorbell, muhahaha.

My strategy for waking up is to have 2 alarm clock placed far away from my bed so that it will be noisy enough to force me to wake up, walk towards them and off them. After a few weeks, this method stop working. When I hear them ring my brain will say, ok nice sound, please try harder, then I will continue sleeping. Maybe I should get 5 more clocks.

Today is the X times someone (restaurant owner) thought I am a korean. As long as I keep my mouth shut I think I can blend into the korean society with no one doubting my nationality. I realize I am getting whiter and whiter, no chance to expose to the wonderful sun in Singapore.

I think after 2 years my english will have slight improvement because when I talk to koreans here i have to speak properly with no singlish or sentence with both english and chinese. And when they ask me english question I cant reply "dunno la", "really meh", I have to construct my cambridge english carefully so that that wont learn the wrong thing, haha. Today chaelim ask me, what is the difference between 'Why dont we play football' and ' How about playing football'. Gosh......I have never thought of this question in Singapore before. To make sure I dont teach the wrong stuff I msg minyi and got her to ask her teacher and thats how I got the answer.

This friday is stupid brigde test. Y isnt it a Big 2 test? Maybe I should buy a huge bottle of wine and bribe the teacher before the test starts.

I just realize the korean player in Man U, Park Ji Sung graduate from Myongji University. As I was reading about him in wikipedia, there was one sentence saying that he was selected into the olympics team due to a game of GO!!

When I communicate with some koreans, I was very surprise that quite a number of them who know about Singapore thought that Singapore is like North Korea. Not in living environment or economy but politics. They thought LKY is like KIM JONG IL.... one man showing controlling everyone. Well... are they right or wrong? haha

Went bowling with some koreans on fri. Wah, i never knew bowling can be so serious... They took like 5mins to decide the number of player on each lane and another 15mins to decide who is on which team. Is as if whichever team lose will have to have their hand chop off. At the end of the game, I was told that the losing team has to pay more. Of course my team won, muhahahaha...

I am really running out of stuff to eat in Korea. Compared to Singapore, the variety of food here is so little. Ok, I think is unfair to say little, maybe because I am picky, I dont like to eat instant noodle, western cutlet style food, cold noodle, the korean dough, spicy meat with rice. The food I dont eat look little here but the variety of them covers almost 3 quarter of the menu. I have been like eating the same food every few days. And the funny part is that their menu look so similar....is like they are all sharing the same menu. Kimchi fried rice taste better than I thought but some are too spicy. Ok, I will try something new tmr.

Today is a special day.

Because is the day I got my internet (FINALLY!!!!!). Now I dont have to go to PC bunk and come home with cigarette smell all over me.

Weather in korea is getting slightly better. The problem with spring is that if you wear too much is too hot, if you wear too little is too cold. Well, I am still figuring the right wear for spring. Another big problem of spring is that all the insects (siao gao's friend) will start to come out. I saw the first spider in my home last week. Cindy say centipede appear in her house before. I cant imagine what will happen if centipede crawl into my mouth when I am sleeping.....

When I was in sebas club, I saw one of the guys resting his legs (no shoe, only socks) on the back rest of a chair while another other girl was sitting on that chair. I was so surprise that the girl didnt find it weired or uncomfortable. Impressive... I mean if I do that in Singapore, most girls would have chop off my legs, those gentle ones may just fracture my legs. I should start to organize korea exchange program for my singapore female friends.

A senior in sebas club said some stuff to me during game review. The words he say seems to inflict a really big impact on me and I just cant forget what he say.

Oh, the reason why people are wearing military uniform in my previous post is because that day was reservist day for most guys in our school. Their reservist is only one day!!!

Went to korea university on saturday because there was a friendly match between the top 3 korea university and myongji university.

Yes, very fierce logo. Korea university is one of the top 3 uni (in academic, not GO) in korea. Seoul national and Yan Sae uni are also in the top 3 position. I was wondering why the korean name for this school is not han guk dae hak kyo then someone told me that last time, the korean name for korea is korea not han guk.

The campus is bloody nice. It doesn't even look like a school at all.

Competition area. 2 sections, a team format section and a individual section for freshmen.

This is the team format. This whole row consisting of only female players are from myongji uni. Because the players in our sch are too good, we are only allow to send female players, sort of like handicap for the rest of the school. But still, we won the other 3 uni.

Lunch!!! I think this is one of the cheapest bento in korea and it taste really good.

After you mix everything, it look like lunch for my best friend, siao gao.

After the whole event, yes.......BBQ again. Haiz... i think i am going to die of cancer real soon, I have like 2 BBQ dinner this week. Another reason I dont like about BBQ is because when you reach home, your whole home will smell like another BBQ restaurant.

One interesting thing about korean BBQ is that they BBQ kimchi too and it taste not bad.

I realize that LV is such a popular brand here, I see people carry this brand everywhere even in school. Some of my classmates carry such a huge LV bag I think even a blind man can sense the brand. And when I thought the queue outside takashimaya LV is long, ho ho ho, it is nothing compare to the queue here.

Getting on a bus is very interesting in Korea. When i frst came korea and saw how people board bus, i was a bit shock. Because even when the bus is 3 to 4 bus length away from the bus stop, you can see people running madly towards the bus as if they are going to get a free ride.

Last Thursday was the so call radiation rain in Korea so our lecturer for Baduk Education being a very kind man treat us lunch by ordering delivery so that we dont have to go out into the rain.

Chinese style food. Is funny to see that food sold in korean chinese restaurant are not available in China. I think the delivery man is a sad man cause he will have to come back a second time to collect back the plastic bowl.

Everyone is really hungry... maybe is the effect of radiation.

There was a performance competition between the ARTS School during the night in the chapel hall.

President of the 5 department in Arts School. Design, Sports, Baduk, Movie&Musical and Music.

As usual there was Korean BBQ after the whole event. Baduk department got 3 in the competition.
