There was quite a special event in my camp last week. My boss wanted me to promote weiqi in their officer mess so i got james, alvin, zhi xiong, wenjun and cindy to help out.

Cindy helping to press the slide. My unit frend was asking me that there wasnt any rehersal between the speaker n cindy right? cause cindy couldnt get into the same pace as james so james have to say back, back back quite a few times, haha.

Overall this event is quite successful just that the respond not very good. maybe not alot of ppl receive the poster thats y.


Hmmm...I find it very sad to see 2 of my frends who are once so close together not able to patch up due to some incident. Cant we put down a little bit of our pride and patch up everything? I am not involved maybe thats y is easy for me to say so but ask yourself if this fight is worth it.

Just went to thailand go association website to take a look n saw that they are having selection for pair go.


The website are in thai language so i have no idea who won the selection...

This guy came singapore for toyota cup before.

Envy thailand cause they have alot of youth players.


Wah...even ms vantanie..(obviously wrong spelling) join. She is like the main in charge of thailand go association.

Yesterday in bugis was the finals for weiqi tourney. As usual the top 3 for open group are are china players.




First place went to xie tang.





Saw zhixiong playing yurika's umbrella like a mad boy and was shock when he told me this umbrella cost $190!!!! OMG!!!




As mj won $100 from tourney, he treat us dinner in Illuma's "the asian kitchen"




He and minyi eating the very ex chicken rice....




I ate cereal fried rice. This is my first time seeing this dish and i think is really my type of dish cause i love to eat the cereal alot.




Who say zhixiong dun eat fish????

After that i went to meet meng yeow and jon to watch midnight show in plaza singapura. Went to bens & jerry to eat ice cream to waste time....




This ice cream cost $30+++. Cant believe ice cream can sell so ex.

Cant wait to watch this movie!!!

Yesterday went trekking from macritchie reservoir to bukit timah hill with my whole unit as part of cohesion day and a farewell ORD lunch for one of my unit frend who is ording soon.




Meeting point was at this ziz zag bridge around macritchie reservoir at 8am. As usual some of us were late so our trip started at around 9am.

Hmm..the last time i came for this trekking route was around 2 or 3 years back with my poly friends. At first i randomly suggested this route as cohesion day cause everyone ran out of idea but din expect that our boss agree on it. Was worrying if my unit frends will start scolding human organ part when they start walking cause is around 15 to 17km walk.




My frends doing not so right stuff when waiting eveyone to reach. The fish look really big. Wonder how they taste... muhahahha...

So we began the walk... The path around the reservoir is quite clean and suitable for all ages to walk. Look at how excited they look. Was wondering if they can mantain this smile when reaching halfway through the trip, haha..

So we past by a golf course and we again grab a passer-by to help us take a group photo.




Our first rest point at a golf course shelter. I was quite surprise that our pace was faster than the time we recce a week before. We thought that ppl will complain and rest quite long at rest point but nah..

The view on this bridge is good. Is very narrow so is a one way bridge...

After treetop walk we have to walk through alot of stairs...

Dunno why they like group photo so much... we took this outside bukit timah earch station or something. The security guard at the entrance look at bit tense when he saw so many ppl standing ouside the entrance....




Finally is eating time!!!!! We ate at this place opposite bukit timah shopping center....

I ordered milo milkshake and it taste damm good. Must go back there sometime to drink again.




Our boss presenting cert of appreciation to sentil, the guy who is going to ORD soon. I know him in secondary school cause we were both in scouts. After graduating from sec i have never seen him and was wondering when will see him again. Never expect that the first person i saw when entering my unit was him. haha

Today is pair go competition...

First game against mile gu and susan team was a big joke. Susan first move was center of board, meaning TIAN YUAN. So i got a bit stunned and i totally forget is pair go and without thinking i put the first move. At that moment i suddenly feel that the eyes of my opponent and my partner was staring at me. Then it strike me that my partner, minyi was suppose to play first, not me.

MUHAHAHAHAHA.... this must be a record in weiqi pair go. First move penalty 3 points!!!

but we were really lucky cause we won by 0.5

Second games was against karen and yuxiang team. I din expect to win the way we won against them cause both of them are really strong. We got really lucky in the middle game cause we somehow magically manage to capture a huge cluster of seeds.

Third game against alvin n yuri was ok even though we lost. think is normal... haha...

In the end base on small point me and minyi got first, second went to alvin/yurika, third went to yuxiang/karen and fourth went to mile gu/susan.

Challenging part is that we have to play another 2 out of 3 round with yuxiang/karen group and winner get to go japan. Dont have much pressure for these 3 rounds cause they are much stronger so i wont be expecting much.

Lastly have to thank minyi for all the training and today's 4 game. Lets try our best for the upcoming selection!

10 contries beside china, korea, japan and taiwan are invited to this year's Samsung Cup. Tan Jia Cheng (one the of shortest in the pic) represent Singapore.
