First match for the second day is against taiwan. Jc won.



5th match against korea. I must say this korea player behaves like lee chang ho. No expression at all...



6th match against japan. heard that this japanese player is a very famous amateur player in Japan..



Last match won against Romania..



Look at the korean surrounding the last game. Korea vs Japan...

My role for this trip is as Baduk Instructor so i have to attend this workshop. Is quite interesting to know how korean group their kyu level and how they use "real" example as teaching material.



But the first thing that surprise me is this song... Haha... how creative huh....



Well, this is what i mean by "real" example. They actually get beginners to play and professor will be at the side recording their mistake as teaching material.



They will record the wrong moves for later teaching...



I have to say i feel kind of shocked when i saw this. I mean is so scientific.

Day 2

Start of the competition. A total of 66 countries took part this year.



Round 1. Cindy helping to record the game...



As usual, cindy the hardcore fan of lee changho....... All the myongji staff were wearing this red and white jumper.. what a perfect shirt for our national day... cindy told me korean (think in her department) feels that able to speak in english and chinese is a genius.. and her korean frends told cindy she is an elite. MUHAHAHA...i am just so amused by the word they use..elite.. haha...

Whenever i see this in korean event i just find it super weird.. Doesnt it look like the colorful version of the flower wrath we see in chinese funeral? Worst still.. lee changho face is just beside them... muhahahahha



Hmmm.... jc and his drug.. cindy say this is "selective" superstitious...haha. Jc say he can play better when drinking this korean energy drink as it has proven him right during first half of samsung cup. BEWARE SINGAPORE PLAYERS!! He brought back a 1litre bottle of this drink to singapore, so if u see some blue liquid beside him during SG competition.. good luck....



2nd round...Jc vs macau... i have to say jc is really lucky to win this round cause his opponent is leading in territory and there is nothing for jc to attack..can be said to be a 90% lose game... Then suddenly his opponent played something not important and jc managed to kill dragon.. In the end his opponent lost by time...



3rd round vs germany.... Kill huge dragon game...



Saw some people playing this... heard from cindy that this is therapy baduk??? maybe good for eyesight?? I find it quite interesting though... but is quite ex....



Review game by 金成龙 9p. Cindy is really fortunate cause this 9p is going to personally teach cindy weiqi in exchange cindy teaching him english. He is quite a famous pro in korea... appearing in BadukTV often...

On a game on BATOO.....

The 5 days i spend in Korea is really worth it because i get to know more of my future school (and some weird korean friends) and more importantly it somehow motivate me to work harder after looking at those weiqi monster in Myongji, haha..

Day 1



Met jc and mr kwa at airport on thursday night. Flight provided by the prime minister is korean airline and the sad thing is there is no individual tv like SQ flight:(



Look at how much i love NS.. Bringing my NS bag (with my name on it) for this trip. Good thing is this bag can really put lots of stuff.



I dunno is this dinner or breakfast... Our flight is from 11pm to 6am and i dun really like this kind of flight timing cause is super duper hard for me to sleep on plane. So just when i was about to enter the sleep mode they suddenly turn on all the lights on the plane to serve this meal -___-"...



Mr Kwa ate bibimbap.. look kind of troublesome compare to my dish. But i have to say my egg plus potato meal sux....



This is my first time on korean airline. The hair thingy (i think is either a hair clip or a deco) on the air stewardess hair is quite nice..



After reaching airport we had breakfast sponsored by the organizer. Everyone surround the picture menu but have no idea what isit..haha



In the end we end up in some cafe and i got this mushroom cheese pancake or something. But it look like a squid in this pic though...



We took a 3 hours bus before reaching our hotel. As expected this hotel is the same one as the Asia Baduk Championship last year.



Yup... Korea Prime Minister Cup.. I dunno why there isnt much news regarding this competition in TOM or sina weiqi...

You can also see competition banner around the hotel and competition area. The competition area is a 2 mins walk away from the hotel. So basically is beside the hotel..



They got this booth at the hotel lobby for registration and temperature taking. Korea is still taking H1n1 quite seriously. They also gave us a heavy goodie bag.



Content of goodie bag. English and korean weiqi book, cute weiqi board, cute weiqi badge and information on the representatives.



So after settling our stuff we went to the Mega mart nearby to get water and snacks. I have been to that mart last year with the singapore representatives(jc, karen, kay, yuxiang) for ABC tournament.




This is the MEGA MART. Trust me, this is the most exciting place or i should say the most entertaining thing around the hotel area. Most shops surrounding the hotel sells either traditional fan or painting.... Seriously not the place u wan to be for a holiday when you are at my age.



Saw a pet shop opposite the mega mart. The dogs look really sad:( I hope the shop owner wont consider them as snacks during winter...



We had lunch.... The one on the bottom is my lunch...some beef meal.. Jc eating chicken or pork cutlet with fried rice and Mr kwa had rice with kimchi soup.



Opening ceremony... Was a simple one with hip hop performance and a strange traditional performance whereby this lady keep screaming high-pitch korean language into her mike... I think all foreigners have the "my ears hurt" face during her performance...



They show all the first round pairing during the ceremony and Singapore vs Mexico.



Buffet style dinner... Dunno why i only took desert pictures..



The first thing that appear when we on the tv. Korea version of chinese chess??



Pls agree with me this is ridiculous!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I dun understand why must this guy dress this way. He is a PROFESSIONAL PLAYER giving handi games...



I was opening my mouth wide open when the camera zoom out. OH MY GOD.... CLOUDS surrounding them????Are they trying to feature that guy as the weiqi god? Oh my... looks like being a pro player in korea is not easy... haha. 心苦你了



The 3 of us roam around the area and most of the shops are either selling boring traditional stuff or closed down... Just when we thought there is nothing to shop around we saw this bookshop selling tons of weiqi equipment!!!! Is my first time seeing so many different kind of weiqi equipment for sale..
