Korea has recently organize pair go competition open to pro, insei and amateur in preparation for next year asian game in china. The sponsor for this competition is the same as the recent BC Card competition.





Looking through news in tom and saw his pic. I have heard of this guy last year cause he took part in the japan WORLD AMATEUR competition.

If you thought that he is a regular player thinking in deep thoughts with his eyes closed in the first 2 pic, you are so wrong.


He is a blind GO player. Looking at him really make me realize how fortunate i am when i can look at the whole board when playing GO. I should not take things for granted. Though i have been experiencing not really good stuff (not weiqi related.... haha, sound like i just got possessed), i should look around and see how fortunate and lucky i am. Is all in the mindset yea? So stop complain why the world isnt fair daniel chan han siong.

Today training was OMG cause the mistake i make in the last game was unforgivable.. I should slap myself on the spot.

When minyi reply pro gao move i was stunned cause i could not find a bigger ko threat (i thought) and at that moment i keep wondering why minyi dun just eat the dragon. After the game i still thought she made a mistake there but it was me who made the mistake cause 1 din see that 1 ko threat she saw.

When she pointed that out i feel like a dumb ass... omg... i wish she could scold me for that lame mistake.

After that game i was really traumatise by that ko threat thing... i wish i could take it easy on these games but is hard especially a lost game.

Went to meet poly frends for dinner in suntec and we ate the korean buffet restaurant again. I dun think is that nice but dunno why this is already my 3rd time there.

Will try our best and even if we din win the selection is alright cause through all the practice with minyi i learn lots of stuff too.

Saw kang lao shi teaching his class. Is really not easy to discuss something together on a board in singapore especially when your students are kids. Cause they will behave like mad monkeys, running around and starting to have itcy hand syndrome like throwing of stones.




Giving teaching games to his student... sometimes i feel sad for kls cause playing with these kids will only deprove his weiqi skill.




This is the funnest and lamest weiqi advertisement i have ever seen. LOOK AT THE CHINESE TRANSLATION...muhahahahhah. The direct chinese translation of HAPPY GO is 黑皮狗 which means black skin dog. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA!!!!!!!

Suddenly i feel that blog is such a scary thing.

It has been a long time since i have dinner with my whole family. Hmmm... if we dun count reunion dinner i think the last time 4 of us had dinner is 4 or 5 years ago during a trip in thailand.

Today is my parent off day so we went to a korean restaurant beside esplanade for dinner, then went to visit merlion. So we were walking on the bridge towards the merlion area and my dad suddenly said to us "look.. whose baby is that?" Me and my sis look down and could not see any baby and we ask where isit. My dad point to the small version of merlion statue behind the actual real size one... me n my sis was like errr........................................

Was surprise that chen shen is in perth studying now. For those who dunno who chen shen is, he is ex nyp captain.. very small size cute cute one. But never judge a book by its cover cause he say the F*** word and the female organ part frequently.... Had chat with him and hope that he continue to play GO in austraila.

Yesterday was asia baduk championship selection in bugis. I will be the team leader for this competition so i can relax 1 corner and watch the selection and see who will be going korea with me.. Below are some pictures..

The winner of this match will go to korea. From the beginning of the match to middle game, i can say ms shen (left) is leading. I was watching the game and i was telling myself ms shen will be going korea for sure so i went for to see other match. After a while, i came back to see if there is any changes and i was like wah!!!! I dunno how minyi managed to invade all her opponent's soild territory and how she made her dead stones alive. Ms shen even shout and clap in the middle of the game (think she almost went mad in that instance... lost a 99.999% sure win game) In the end minyi won.

First game of pair go. We were debating whether white block the correct direction on the top left corner(when bottom left still does not have the 2 white stones). Cindy played that joseki after black played at 3-3, me and zhixiong was kind of shock. When we review yuxiang thinks that the direction shown in the pic is correct. I am stunned... So what do you think??

Went bugis today and saw yurika's son attending junior class.

Yurika was telling me that his son is very naughty, haha.

Well, isnt that a privilege that only kids have? If i have a son i dun mind him being naughty cause is all this little mischievous that makes him unique and it will be good memory for parents in some way:)

Few days back was talking casually with yls in bishan and he told me that i should just concentrate on"blah blah" and i can have a rather good life and might even earn big bucks. Yup i agree with him cause is true but deep down in my heart thats not what i really wanted. I must be crazy for not wanting big bucks huh...

Dunno why i am quite scare of my future. Isit because of my future is going to be weiqi related and i still sux at it? haha

Many may think i take weiqi too seriously. Yes, i have to agree with them that i take win and lose very seriously cause this is going to be my future job. Scary thing is i cant seem to enjoy this game as before anymore. Is just like a job to me now.

I somehow envy other players whom can take defeat easily. To them losing a few games is nothing cause at the end of the day weiqi is just a hobby and if u get really bored of this game u just quit and look for new game. Haha...have been asking myself will i be able to do that?

Weiqi is 1 game that take up so much of your time and even if u are willing to devote all these time, at the end of the day u might not get to see the result u desire.

What will swa be in few years time?

Was reading minyi's post and whao...the way she describe things in chinese is really distinction style. I like this phrase she said...

混合双打（mixed pair）是由一男一女组队的比赛，二对二。它也是一个残酷又可怕的游戏。一盘棋导致男方气得内出血，女方紧张得整颗棋子湿淋淋都是汗。

Muhahahaha....残酷又可怕的游戏.. fear factor?

My weiqi strength is not as high as tjc etc.. so it will be hard for me to 气得内出血 cause even if the female player play wrong, i might think is ok. haha. Maybe sometimes u may see me upset but i am upset with my poor play and weak reading cause dun wish to drag you down:(

So minyi, no worries yea! Lets try get some fun out from it. hahaha...

Hope our practice can improve our strength (we kind of learn learn stuff in every game) and somehow help you in your future competition and selection:)

Practice toady was good but i am just really really disappointed with my play.

What have i been doing?

Went to watch Drag Me To Hell with james, alvin and zhixiong. Show is quite different from what i expect cause i din know a horror show can be this disgusting...haha.. feel like vomiting throughout the show. Wonder how zhixiong manage to finish his popcorn.

Dun really feel good.

Due to the recent outbreak of H1n1, Tamiflu (a kind of drug against h1n1) has been appearing on news everywhere and i used to think that i will never get to taste it.

I am so wrong...




Now i got a packet of tamiflu and i have to eat a pill everyday not because i have h1n1 but a precaution cause i have contact with them.

I have to say NS is kind of efficient.. they send a warrant officer to deliver this to my doorstep and i am shock... haha

At first i thought the warrant officer will come in ambulance and dress in those suit ppl are wearing in hospital now and with a mask. And i was wondering what my neighbour will start to think... will they be looking at my unit with eyes bigger than fishball?? Luckily all these are just my imagination... ahhaha
