My sis was on air yesterday with peifen and they were suppose to give out free Chronicles of Narnia movie ticket to anyone who has the best answer to a question. The question is if you can travel into the scenes of Narnia, who will you bring along? So ppl start sending in sms and the winner is the one who said she will bring guan ying ma along, haha.

But thats not the main point.... so my sis started saying that some other ans are not bad too and she list a few example and said that this person who choose IP man because in the sms it wrote WO YAO DA SHI GE. People who watch IP man obviously know it meant 我要打十个... but instead she said 我要大师哥!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......

Was able to watch harry potter gala premiere on tuesday in The Cathay thanks to my sister. The show was not bad, but some talking part was kind of draggy. If i am going korea, i will have to watch part 2 there next year. Good thing is that in Korea, the movie remains in english and with korean subtitles, I cant imagine harry or ron say "an nyong ha sae yo".

Went to CSI exibition with wen jen and xing wei. OMG, seriously the 20 bucks is so not worth it!!! Dont waste money and time there. The 2 of them was going to eat me up when we finish the exhibition, muhahahaha.

Last week 2 korean pros came to sg to play teaching game and I bought them to sentosa to HUAT. After the 3 days of entertaining them i think i should start studying korean language because if is not for ms cho, we will have a hard time communicating. During the last day, we went to a coffee shop near bishan clubhouse to chill and talk cock. For some reason during the talk, I ask what is chinese weiqi style and Mr Kim told us about the komi theory he has came up with and his theory was even publish in the korean weiqi magazine.

Komi as all weiqi player know is used to compensate the advantage black has in a weiqi game since black start first. Japan was the strongest weiqi country in the past even when the komi was 5.5 at that time. However when the Koreans started to change the komi to 6.5 in their internal competitions, Korea became the the top country for weiqi in the world. People like Lee Changho win international competition like no one business. The reason for this is because fuseki and joseki which were widely used and taught by japanese were no longer efficient when used against 6.5 komi so the Korean started playing new joseki and fuseki to ensure that black becomes more effective. Actually the change in komi by koreans practically destroy the fundermental of Japan' weiqi. If we look at the international competitions now, China who is using komi of 7.5 has more of its players in the finals in almost all international competition. This shows that komi plays a huge part in the development of weiqi.

I was really surprise by his theory because it is very true. So maybe singapore should start to use komi of 8.5, haha.

Last day teaching in mee toh primary school. I know i will never get to see them again so thought of getting them a small gift. My mum say i am crazy, she say that i should not waste money. Well my thinking was, if taking a little part of my salary to buy them something can make them so happy, why not?

One of my class show me this before i leave. Took me quite a while to understand, haha.

Went to ion to meet my mum for lunch in a japanese restaurant. The service was really bad, first time i wrote so many things in the comment sheet.

Check up was ok.... i have to experience the super long tube going through my nose process again!!! The last time i did that was like 3 years ago and i thought that will be the first and last time...

These few days i have been really busy fighting email war. Is generation gap the main problem or i just dont understand their point of view? Not saying that implementing the "mc" thing will greatly change swa but from how things work now and how some seniors are pushing swa, why do i feel worry? When i look at the poll results (5 ppl) i feel disappointed, really.
Spend my afternoon watching 包青天, a 1993 tv series. OMG, isnt that like 17 years ago!! But still the show is good! The only funny thing is that they sometimes speak in sophisticated chinese and i am like HUH.... can you be more direct?? Maybe thats the trend 17 years ago.

Went to bishan at night for 3 countries meeting. Great, the free and easy will be Universal Studio!!! I am sure the foreign players will have a good time there.

After that went to mac to discuss weiqi stuff with wen jun. I am really happy that he is very willing to help improve swa. 5 years, 10 years, 20 years later, I wonder what will swa become. Will there be a private weiqi school to fight against swa? Will ssc recognize us more? will there be new blood in swa? will nt/ntt stop functioning? will there be more sponsors? will thailand overtake us? will swa make no improvement?

After i go korea, i am worry that no one will contribute new ideas or fight against stuff to improve swa. Not saying that i am the only one who do that but no one is as siao as i am when it comes to all these pushing of new ideas. Main reason.... is troublesome. I have to agree on this.

OMG!!!! No air con for 1 bloody week!! I am not a big fan of air con but the weather is just ridiculous even at night!! I can feel my sweat on the pillow every night......

This week is like army week, waking up at 6.30am every morning (except today thanks to my indian pals) and have to reach punggol by 8.30am. I know Singapore is kind of tiny but travelling from bukit batok to punggol is super far for me. Teaching weiqi in primary school is quite interesting because i get to see how loud a teacher can scream, how crazy the whole school becomes during recess time, how innocent the kids are and how much pri sch children have "evolve" since my time. Teaching weiqi to kids is not easy because this game is quite complex even to some of my peers so I have to think of ways to simplify the teaching and make my class interesting. Sometimes i do feel like a clown entertaining 40 kids but when they start to laugh or when they understand what I am teaching about, is really worth it.

Speaking of army, cant believe i just ORD. 2 years has pass fast. All the friends i know, the knowledge i gather, the times we suffer will always be a memory i will never forget.

Woke up on my birthday and find some pressure in my right ear and thought is nothing. 2 days later i was feeling really unbalance in ion with my army friends. 1 day later the pressure became obvious so went to A&E to do a check and doc say my ear drum bursting. What a nice bd gift..hahaha. Alright hope everything will turn out fine.

Thailand trip was.......... first time in my life i find travelling a torture. Took a 9 hours bus ride from bangkok to chiangmai, a once in a life time experience. Went to night market at night and i started to get giddy and vomit like hell, not sure if it was because my my ear. Remain on bed till the next night and was admitted to their hospital. First time seating on wheel chair and was surprise to see a dog in front of the A&E counter. They din even bother taking my temperature, they just ask do u have fever, i say no, they write no, hahaha. Anyway i managed to survive.
