Cindy's cafe friend treat me and shuan to lunch yesterday in some ulu restaurant.
When i say ulu, it is really ulu. You cant see a single soul out here!! The more curious question is how on earth did they get to know this place.
Even the restaurant looks deserted to me, haha. I even started thinking what if they drug customers and sell their meet as beef!!
Ok, good news is the meat look like beef. They have all kinds of mushrooms in this pot and they taste really good with the beef. My sis who is a anti-mushroom person must be vomiting now.
This is the cutest mushroom i have ever seen. It looks more like a soft toy!!
After the meat and mushroom feast, we had noodles soup. I dont really like this cause it taste just like ban mian in singapore. I dont understand y people like to eat ban mian, the noodle is so thick and it taste so bland. Maybe I haven tried a good stall yet.
The meat, noodles and this rice are all in the set meal and it cost only 40,000won. Haha, i must have focus too much on eating and forget to take the pic when they serve the rice.
I really wonder why is it so hard to see fat people in korea. They drink so much, eat so much meat and yet they all have good figures. Must be the kimchi.....

I was eating in canteen when I saw this pic. Is either I really miss Singapore food or the middle picture look just like mee siam. Speaking of mee siam, I dont even remember when was the last time eating it. I remember when I was in primary school, the malay stall sell really nice food like nasi ayem, mee soto, mee rebus, lontong etc and the queue was always super long. At that time I felt that is not fair for the malays in my school because during recess time, chinese are queuing up for malay food when we have like 4 or 5 chinese food stall (i dun think their food is that bad la). Will they have enough time to get their food and finish at their own pace?
After
Before
I was looking at a go book today and I saw choi cheol han's girlfriend who is also a pro. But the face.... as in the difference... ok, maybe her makeup skill is like professional 9dan in go.

Few days back I press a magical button and my blog background was deleted!! haiz and I cant seems to put back my tagboard. Anyway pls continue to communicate with me through the comment tab after every post, haha.
Lunch in school today with chang seok. I realize is so tiring speaking english to him because everytime I finish a sentence he will say ahh...and nod his head but actually he has no clue what I am talking about, hahaha.
Anyway back to lunch. Is korean culture to pour all the rice into the soup bowl and consume them together. I was surprise when I first saw them doing it because when I do that in Singapore, my mum will smack me and ask me not to play with food. Well, korean culture.
More of korean culture, few days back I was walking in another department in my uni and there was this guy walking towards me. He saw me and walked pass me. I wasnt smiling or anything, just my usual stone face and 5 seconds later he suddenly turned back and walk up to me and bow to great me. Obviously this joker here thought that I am some great ancestor senior of his and I was like o...k... should I like give a nod back or say something like "guai"(of course this dont work, haha). In the end I just smile and walk off. Please dont let me see him again.
After lunch we went to study and he took out his english text book to "test" me. The first few questions was basic but later on I got most of them wrong in this particular section. I seriously could not believe I was wrong so i posted the questions on facebook. It only makes me feel worst. Because even some thai guy can explain this crazy grammer rules which I have never heard before!!!! I shall stop telling people I am from Singapore.
Cindy's cafe lifestyle. I really love the green tea latte in this cafe, is as good as starbucks and is way cheaper. I always thought that drinks like coffee are more expensive than cakes but I am obviously wrong. If I have my own cafe I will make cake cheaper than coffee. Who doesnt love cakes haha. And I need to find out why not a single soul study in korea cafe where else in sg, is as if the cafes there give out tips on exam questions. Is it because of some image thing?

Finally the service man arrives at my place to service my water dispenser. It was a nightmare talking to him through phone because he dont understand any english and he was like screaming at the other end trying to get me understand what he is trying to say. Muhahahaha. Somehow the duck and the chicken manage to communicate and settle everything.
This is one dish I eat less than 5times when I was in korea last year. Not that it sucks but its unhealthy. Dont get con by the appearance, is actually maggie mee with some disgusting korean rice cake (i am going to get beaten up by many people). Whenever I order this the first thing that comes to my mind is... if i return my tray later will the aunty scream at me. Because.......
All the rice cakes are still there!!! hahaha. Most of the time I will just run off after returning the tray. Come to think of it, how come SG doesnt have the culture of returning tray? The only thing I can think of is that we must be some kinds souls trying to create more job opportunities. Mk was also telling me that korean in SG are very afraid of throwing rubbish when they first come to SG because we just dump everything in 1 bag and they find it very amazing! hahaha where else in korea, they classify the rubbish.
Ate lunch in this shop and they offer the best side dish in these areas. Shop name is mother's finger and it creeps me up when I first heard it. First thing that came to my mind, that "mother" in this shop got wash hand or not...
I never knew the spicy pork rice in this shop is that nice!!! Is not too spicy and it taste a bit like bak kwa!! No wonder cindy's bf kept eating this.

It has been a long time since I had a nightmare. And yesterday night I was woken up by this nightmare twice. Is was quite a torture because is like the movie inception, a dream in a dream and the most hilarious part of this nightmare is that it is related to maths. Hahahaha!
I dreamt that I only have 1 month left to this maths exam and I haven started studying (fits my style) and that feeling was enough to wake me up. And since it was a dream in a dream, I woke up in my dream and I was like shit I am in uni now so it means there will still be maths test in future. I was so afraid that I really woke up this time. I was still in shocked when I realized siao!!! weiqi department where got maths exam one, then i went back to sleep hahahaha.
Today is V day but I din see a lot of girls carrying flower in Korea. Anyway I spent my V day with mummy in seoul grand park.
Korea's version of science center. I thought I was at the wrong place when I step out of the train station cause there are too little people around here.
when i saw this I thought of universal studio, THE MUMMY ride immediately, haha. The entrance fee is only 10,000won.
This thing is suppose to guard the internal organs of the pharaoh but how did the ancient Egyptians design something so cute, haha.
I was quite amazed that the pharaoh sleeps in 3 layers of coffin. I mean if he did really comes back to life, there is no way for him to escape from it.
On my way to dinner I saw this!!!!
Dinner alone on V day is not as bad as I thought. I only saw 1 couple in this restaurant, haha. But this meal is bad :(

For the past few days I have been waking up at strange timings (time to buy more alarm clocks) and I dont even know the first meal I am going to have is consider lunch or dinner. So before I kill myself I have set a goal and that is to wake up like a normal human being.
I managed to wake up as planned and went to school for lunch today. If is not for low cost meals I would really think twice before walking uphill to school in this crazy weather.
Menu for today "Tuna mix rice" Seriously I think the canteen is trying to cheat my money because this obviously is KIMCHI MIX RICE. I can barely find the tuna! And with so much spicy kimchi on my rice why on earth are there kimchi AGAIN in the side dish? I know korean loves kimchi but I didnt know is till this extent. Anyway I really wanna thank the kind soul in the kitchen that suggest putting the fried fish in the side dish, she must be a student in this sch before.
Valentine's day tomorrow! In Korea u will see all these temporary choc stall outside convenience shop targeting couples. My plan on V day is actually to visit a museum. Muhahaha!! I was so excited when I saw this exhibition on ancient egypt in korea, something I always wanted to attend. Hope it will be a good excursion trip for me tmr.

I was standing on the bus when this guy seating in front of me suddenly jumps up and rush for the exit before the door close. At that moment I saw him left his camera on the seat but before I could do anything the bus driver drove off so fast as if he was on some F1 track. I am sure Cindy will miss these kind of fast and furious rides.
Anyway I was about to alight too so I pass the camera to the bus driver and deep down I was praying so hard that he dont ask me anything because even if i understand I dont know how to reply, haha. So after passing to him he said 뭐!(what!) and I just walk off pretending I didnt hear.
Just when I though everything was over he suddenly shout out a string of korean which sounds like nonsense and it was too fast for me to catch anything so I once again pretend not to hear it. Then this lady in front of me turn around and repeat what the driver say. Before I could even process what she said I straight away reply "neh" (which means yes) and I was like shit, what if is an open ended question like what is it? or where did u find this? and I reply yes?...hahahaha!
But, lucky me, the driver asked did someone drop this? hahaha.

Met up with chang seok for lunch today and so surprise to see him wear lacoste binnie . I think he is working towards the position of fashion leader in our department. Then during lunch he suddenly said that there is a problem this semester in our department. He said it was serious and I thought our department is going to close down soon or a teacher from our department run off with our scholarship or something but instead he said "there will only be 2 female freshman this year" muhahahhahah!!! Isnt it expected especially for a weiqi department.
Went to shinsegae for dinner with my imaginary friend (it means alone if u dont catch my joke) and whao!! there is TV on public bus now. Even though the content keeps repeating, I am still amazed.
I love this set meal. even though the noodles isnt the best but the prawns are great, taste quite similar to SG food. It cost 7000won, a bit ex huh..
I just committed a sin. I bought a jacket... I hereby declare that I will chop off my arms if I buy anymore jacket in Korea (unless is a matter of life and death). The reason for buying is because the current outer jacket I am wearing makes me look like a chicken. There are like feathers coming out everywhere from the jacket 24/7 despite cleaning it almost every min. I dunno how those feathers manage to squeeze their way out!
And I made the fatal mistake again!! The big signboard wrote "Discount!! 99,000 to 200,000 won" so I choose the outer wear design, try out and go straight to the cashier without checking how much it cost!!!! AND I ASSUME ALL COST 99,000won!!!! I was so afraid when the cashier scan the bar code. Good thing is that it fell within my budget :) haha.

I am back to Korea, the very very cold country.. The flight back was good because I manage to watch 3 shows. One documentary on IQ, one japanese movie- kaiji 2 and a korea movie-The Client. The Client is a 2011 movie and is the first Korean featured courtroom thriller. I should have watched the korean movie first because it is damm nice and when it comes to the most exciting part, they switch off the in-flight entertainment!!!! OMG...I should have calculate the timing carefully before choosing what show to watch..
Anyway the food on plane is better than I thought. A choice between chicken n beef.
The beef look like shit and it taste a bit hard but the mash potatoes are great. The guy beside me chose chicken and it look like hospital meal, muhahahhah!! but maybe it taste good cause he was eating so fast..
Yesterday was not as cold as I thought, a very good welcome back present haha. I was quite afraid when I was about to reach my place because on the way to sg airport, my parents and I were discussing what could happen to my place.
My mum say maybe I din off the heater so the whole building kena burn down, my dad say the original apartment will get tear down and replace by a new one (i think only his imaginary friend can build so fast), as for me I was afraid that my heater break down because I have to on it 24h for 1 month when I leave for sg and it already had lots of problem last year. The first thing my mum ask when she called me in korea was "your house didnt get burn down ah"
HENG AH!! Everything looks the same except that the snsd poster from xing wei fell off. I spent a few hours cleaning off the dustssss in my room and wash my "presidential suite" toilet. The worst part of it is that my bathing heater is not working!! Is just like last year when I spend my first night in this apartment. Apparently due to the winter, if the heater isnt on for a long time, it will need a very very very long time to warm up. Overall it was better than last year because at that time I had to use toilet paper to wipe the whole house cause it was so dirty and it was too late to buy any cloth..

Is only the second day and I am starting to miss home, something I did not feel last year, haha. Maybe because I used to go out and meet friends everyday during the 1 month in sg but now I can only talk to the posters in my room. Hope things will be better when school starts.
I had zha jiang mian for lunch today and I seriously miss it. That shop beside my place sells the best noodles I have eaten so far in Korea. My friend was suggesting that maybe I can ask them for the secret recipe and open a franchise stall in sg. But when I see the owner today, omg he look as if he just kill someone in the kitchen.. how to ask... haha.

Went to grandparent place yesterday for lunch with my mum. My grandfather then suggest to play mahjong before I fly off on monday. I think 2012 is my mahjong year because I have been winning everywhere I go, muhahahaha!! In total I won around $140, HUAT AH! But I am really bad luck in the game call in-between, is as if I become some wealthy charity guy, only out no in.. haha. After the game my grandfather said "aiya next time dont play with you", hahahaha, is funny because he is like the mahjong addict and he said that.
Met weiqi clique yesterday for dinner in bugis. I think is my first time having outdoor steamboat and the experience is Whoa!! sweating like hell, haha. I cant believe my favourite dish is actually the cheap crabmeat, maybe I miss eating that. Then went to tcc to chill and talk cock. Sometimes i feel that electronics gadgets like ipad/iphone make human interaction lesser. Like yesterday, once the ipad is out, all conversation stop and focus is on that. Nevertheless is was a great meet up and I really hope that we can all continue to meet up even after we start working.
I have this weiqi friend whom I think that the longer I know him the more I think he is not the guy I first knew. Or maybe I dont even know him well in the first place.
A lot of people have this problem, when they are good in something or when they think they are good in something they forget the meaning of being humble.
I will be leaving tmr and I am not sure how long I will stay in Korea. This time round I dont feel as excited as last year. Maybe because I know how terrible the weather is going to be and I wont be able to talk as much as i was in Singapore. When I was in Singapore I was most afraid of 2 question 1) Can you speak korean now? your korean must be very good right? 2) What is your GO strength now? Must have improve a lot right? Sadly these are 2 areas that have not much improvements. I can only say that the reason is because I spent most of my time on GO SHOP. This year i really want to have improvement in one of the 2 areas.
